I love the double-think of "All men are trash and they hurt me", and almost in the next sentence they ask you "Who hurt you??" as a way of diminishing your suggestion that men could be treated better.

And then if you say "a woman", you get pile-driven.

Moral of the story, don't expect sympathy from a woman. Just don't.

I've noticed this a lot during my current situation I'm going through.

All my fault a woman has got pregnant (no proof it's mine and she's refusing DNA test)

Apparently I should trust her, learn safe sex and have sympathy to this woman.

i’ve been hurt and abused by a woman in a relationship and when i hurt her it was a huge deal within our friend group and i would get piled on, when she once threw my water bottle into the trash can (i was extremely thirsty and really needed it) everyone laughed and she downplayed it as a joke. i was pissed on the inside but obviously if i retaliated i would become the aggressor

I have been treated like shit for women all my life. I have been abused whole life until my 25 (now I'm 28). When I try to unload something about that from myself I get the rejection of every person. Never anybody is on your side when you criticize women, women tell you that you are misogynistic and men tell you that you are a faggot. They even don't care about if you are clinically treated or anything. You just can't criticize anything about women and always is your fault if you are mistreated for them.

Yes they do matter. It's terrible what happened to you and should not be downplayed because of what hangs between your legs.

Did you get help from victim support? I don't know where you live but in the country where I live every victim and their family has the right to proper care.

Is there something we can do besides listening?

It's because in their minds Men are associated with power and strength

If you admit to being hurt, you're not "being a man" (quietly and submissively accepting the abuse and pretending it doesn't hurt/affect you) and that puts you in the category of "man boy" and they jump into any shame or social abuse they can find to get you back into shutting up and taking the abuse.

They don't even notice the contradiction in their words

I am a 14 year old female, with a cheating father and recently divorced parents. I remember this one time, when I was 9, my parents where in the garage "talking", then my mom came out with a bloodied hand screaming that my dad hit her, I was even more surprised to find out the reason behind their argument was because my mom didn't pick up her phone, this traumatized me and made me not trust my father. A couple of years later, I learn about rape, abuse, incest... and the constant reminders to be careful of men from my family made me even more scared. Then going to school and hearing the boys make comments about banging their sisters and so on, I became scared of my brother labeling him as well as untrustworthy. All these events led to me thinking "all men are trash, they can't be trusted, the'll hurt me." So I started calling myself a feminist, a defender of women's rights, and believed that humans should be equal despite their gender. Reading this comment made me realize that I was being a hypocrite, I quickly turned from defending women to attacking men. I generalized men and made excuses for women's actions. I only focused on the perspective of women, while blaming men and holding them all under the same prejudice, while using feminism as an excuse. My point is that I apologize for being a hypocrite, and thank you for posting this and making me realize my mistake. So allow me to reword and say that I am a defender of gender equality and human right, not just women. I hope you have an incredible day and stay safe :)

Exactly we should all day listen how we are trash just for being born males but in the other hand we are not allowed to generalise women even to joke about them because it is sexist and can make them uncomfortable
