Its offensive that sexual assault experts are available to convince you you were raped. The thinking as espoused by the psychologist who was exposed for implanting false repressed memories of child abuse of "if you think something might of happened, then it did" is all too common. When a woman tells such a story, its normal for her to focus on the details that might suggest rape, and its normal for a friend to show sympathy by declaring it rape. Really though the standard should be if you think it might not be rape then it isn't.

I applaud the women in the story who chose not to press charges.

Under the law, a guy has to get a clear verbal or nonverbal yes from you to have sex. Just because you consent to one sexual activity (making out, even with few clothes on) does not mean you have given permission for any other. Also, silence doesn’t always equal consent, nor does being too drunk to know what you’re doing.

This is deeply offensive in that it provides a recipe for putting men in jail.

As to the claim that many gray rape victims go on to be drug abusers, sex addicts and get eating disorders, this happens to non rape victims as well, and its not surprising that psycho bitches that convince themselves they were raped would have a higher likelihood for being fucked up.

It's a joke now. I mean a very funny joke. Do you realize why?

Because, now, what men need to start doing is protecting themselves. Men need to protect themselves from what should now be referred to as, "Gray Sexual Predators".

How do you protect yourselves? Men will now have to cease all engagement with drunken women. Period. Why? It's her word against yours, regardless, so, protect yourself.

Any and all women who go out to bars must now be considered "damaged goods" and potentially "lethal goods". Sounds bad right, sounds like something an extreme fundamentalist middle eastern country would do, but in this case, it's the result of a corrupt, sexist, court system.

This is the only way men are going to able to conquer this slew of injustice and betrayl. Men need to take a cue from the civil rights movement (which ironically supported real feminists -- not these neo-feminists -- in there struggle).

Men need to boycott women who drink. Period. I'm dead serious. If a woman wants to gain the affection of a man, she must not drink. Women who drink alcohol are now potential "gray sexual predators" and need to be avoided. If Cosmopolitan is saying that a woman who drinks until she is drunk can now call rape if she "feels bad about saying yes to sex", then men seriously better open their fucking eyes and realize that this is an invitation to corruption and destruction and a tool which will allow female predators to engage in the type of life destroying behavior predators of both sexes often feed off of.

Boycott drunk women.

I know women REALLY want us to be able to read their minds but we still can't.

My girlfriend is plenty strong enough to tell me "hey asshole, get off me. I said I'm not interested" if she wasn't.

This is what's really bad. We essentially have a situation where someone can be commiting the second most serious crime there is without knowing they are even doing anything wrong.

I know this is is going to be called victim blaming, but come on girls, if you don't make it clear you don't want sex how is they guy to know? I mean if I got drunk and went back to a guy's house and he tried to ass fuck me, I'd make it clear in no uncertain terms that that wasn't going to happen. If he succeed in ass fucking me after that there would be no doubt in my mind I'd been raped.

I don't mean that women need to engage in a fight to the death with the guy for it to be rape, but they need to make their intentions more clear. Despite what people say, "no" means "push a little bit harder for it" just as often as it means yes. It seems to stem from a biological thing where women like to feel like they've submitted to the man's will rather than given permission. It is often a turn of to a girl to be asked for permission to fuck her. They often want to be 'taken'.

An example of this is when I last fucked my gf. She did say no, but still let me push her onto the bed and take her. She was very much a willing participant despite saying no. Later we were talking on the subject of "No means no", and she told me in no uncertain terms that no does always mean no. I reminded her she told me no when she did really want sex, which she accepted. So I said in that case no meant yes on that occasion, and she replied that it didn't. So I said, "So you said no to sex, even though you meant yes, but no still always means no?". "Yes, that's right", she said, without a hint of humour. The statement didn't seem contradicotry in any way to her.

Who honestly doesn't know that at 2am when a guy says to a girl, "Come back to mine for coffee" he actually means, "Come back to mine for sex, but I know as a woman you want to pretend that you're not coming back for sex, as that takes the spontaneity out of it, so I'm saying coffee as a code word". Who drinks coffee at 2am anyway? It seems to me that if girls always turned an offer to go back to a guys house / room after a night of drinking when they didn't want to have sex with him, these incidents of 'rape' would drop to almost 0.
