Were there new conscription laws enacted today? Because News is generally relevant to the happenings of the day.

I don't disagree that male only drafting and conscription is bullshit, I'm just not aware of any reason it would be more relevant today than on other days. Whereas there is a hugely relevant and newsworthy event that happened today that affects the lives of ~300 million people and the BBC seems to be covering it appropriately.

Just like saying black lives matter doesn't diminish the importance of other lives, supporting women and men who are affected by the US supreme court ruling today does not diminish the injustices done to others. They just aren't the topic of conversation in this moment, because of the format of news programs and our tendencies as a species, we tend to talk more about the things that are happening now than things that have been ongoing.

BBC is covering war all over the world, just not with a focus on gender.

I would argue that this should ALSO be covered without a gender bias since abortion is actually super important to both men AND women but...it's understandable.

I don't know, dude. Of the things to freak out about I don't think this is even on my radar.
