You might be surprised at the tone, habits, and reactions that you are eliciting and reinforcing in your own house, and against which your daughter is forming her identity. I am a marriage and family therapist, and there's no other book I would recommend. This is not going to be a quick fix, my friend. Be prepared to do some work, either on your own or with a professional.

I would ask her about her views on her clothing before giving any advice. Talk to her without thinking about how you can convince her, but really listen to her and why she wants to dress like she does.

Then think about it for a day or two and you be able to have a better discussion about revealing clothes.

Why not try wearing the same thing she does and act the same way to demonstrate to her what it LOOKS like to other people and that it is important to have self respect first if you want other people to respect you.

First of all, do some introspection and make sure that your problem with how she dresses doesn't originate in a personal discomfort in the thought of your beloved daughter fucking. It is going to happen, if it hasn't already. You, as a parent, cannot stop it. Your job is to make sure she is educated enough to go about it in an emotionally and physically safe manner.

Some general hints for teens I use:

Provide a loving home.
Tell them they can talk to you, and listen to them when they do. Provide a safe space for them to talk to you where you don't judge them.
Provide safety instructions for life. They will want to try things on their own, they will sometimes fail, and you should help them get back up, within reason.
Do not tell them "I told you so." Show them that even though they made mistakes, they are still lovable. I like to tell my son some of my funnier mistakes. I also tell him some of my dumbest mistakes, so he doesn't repeat them.
Guide them but do not control them. If you try to control them they tend to rebel. It's worse when you don't know when they are rebelling, like smoking after school. When they break a school rule for example, let them suffer the consequences. Maybe explain why the rule is there.

Find a few women who behaved that way in their teens and twenties, only to regret it and begin the process of finding a "good man" in their 30's and 40's. Have them talk.
