It's kind of a conflationary point.

Men do commit suicide more often, indisputably.

But I don't think that has to do so much with their masculinity.

It'd instead ask you to define what masculinity is first; not conflate the "men commit suicide X% more often than others" stat. The powers that be can't even define what a man or a woman is, so I'd lean toward incredible discretion on trusting a conflated statistic like this.

The terminology is confusing AF. It's not that being a man makes you more likely to off yourself. The societal pressure to conform to a very unforgiving template of what you should be if you're born a man... that's what makes suicide more likely.

But if you read the language they use it doesn't sound like men are the victims who receive this high-stress toxicity from society. The verbiage makes it sound like being a man is the cause of all of your problems.

Being masculine doesn't make one suicidal, but when a man has to deal with emotional stress and/or mental health struggles while having to act masculine (not seeking help), it makes him more suicidal imo.

find negative associations with those traits.

Also, hegemonic masculinity is a concept developed to explain women's oppression, not men's experiences. It should never be used to understand men.

Some issues that prove that it's not being a man makes one suicidal.

Sweden did a study on men in the military's height and suicide. In their country, basically all males have to serve. The shorter the men, the more likely they would commit suicide at some point. Also, monks live an average of 5 years longer than average males. There is a lot of evidence that society causes men to die younger. While some men perpetuate lower lifespans on other men, some men know we're in this together. Most women will do things to perpetuate men's lower lifespans. I wouldn't be surprised if feminist do that more as well as feminists have more animosity to men, especially incels.

I think women attempt suicide more than men do (seeking attention) but men be committed to the cause, hence our suicidal rates are higher for men because when we check out, we check out.

You know, learning to talk is a socializing process, like learnig to share.

A construct , that is multifaceted, linked to those proces in the first stages of life would be indeed associated with suicidality (how could not be?)

But with this definition, it is, you know what other multufaceted construct is linked you the first stages of life? Money.

Mens problems are blamed on masculinity, something that emanates from within and between men. Women’s problems are blamed on from society and its oppression, of which men are the ultimate cause. This is the default explanation in social sciences.

Funny how masculinity supposedly discourages seeking help but the most popular sports are all based on teamwork. Does anyone actually think NFL players are less masculine because the help each other?
