This will be long, but the answers to this will tell me whether or not I want to identify as an MRA. It is important to me because I agree with a lot of what the MRM says. Labels aren't everything, but it is still important to know if I should associate myself with the MRM.

I'll start by saying that I am a male, gay, anti-feminist, and have never been a feminist. This is to say that I have absolutely no motives to be on women's side. I know that not all MRAs are MGTOWs. The problem I have is that it seems like MGTOWs still make up a fair size of the MRM and many MRAs also accept MGTOWs as part of the movement, which is what bothers me. I believe in and agree with so much of what the MRM stands for, but I don't want to be a part of it if it accepts people that I see as sexist. It is OK to only want sex from women and it is OK to not ever want LTRs with women, but to demonize all of them as MGTOWs seem to do is just sexist from my point of view. MGOTWs seem to write off almost all, if not all women as vengeful, manipulative, lazy, and horrible people. Many might even add more things to that list.

My mother was all of what I said above in a nutshell, with the added benefit of abusing medications and alcohol. She also took advantage of the court systems to take a lot away from my father, luckily excluding me. This was even after she became paralyzed. It is scary to think of what could have happened, had she been able to move on her own. However, my father was no better. He was never there for me on any level, leaving me alone with my mother and not ever helping me through my emotional and mental problems. He was also very aggressive towards me. He was no better than she was and he didn't even abuse any kind of alcohol or drug. After a while I moved in with my grandparents. My grandmother is the exact opposite of everything MGTOWs claim women are like. She is selfless, kind, accepting, and loving. Her worst quality is nagging. My grandfather is great as well, the only problems with him being that he has a short temper and can't handle emotional situations. Now I'll say a bit about the people I've met outside of my family. I've met plenty of people from both genders, both online and otherwise, and I can say that both genders have horrible sides to them. My point is that I simply cannot seen the reason why MGTOWs dislike women so much, but not men. I know what women can do to men during divorce and with rape accusations among other things. The fight against that stuff is one reason why I like the MRM, but I don't like that MGTOWs seem to be so sexist towards ALL women because of it.

I'll use an analogy. I am gay and I have come across countless straight people that are extremely homophobic, especially because I live in the southern USA. I still cannot go to Africa or the Middle East without being killed, imprisoned, or tortured. Gay people also face countless struggles in other parts of the world, and even in the parts that accept me (legally or socially), I will still find a lot of homophobia. Because of all of this, should I now tag all straight people as horrible just because a majority of them globally are horrible towards me? I don't think so. Is there a difference between that and why MGTOWs are MGTOWs? To me it seems like the same thing. MGTOWs seem to be saying that since enough women hurt them in the past, they are going to write all of them off as horrible people with countless bad qualities. Even the female MRAs that are anti-feminist, such as members of The Honey Badgers, seem to be so distrusted and even disliked by many MGTOWs.

Do I have some false information or misconceptions about MGTOWs? Maybe I just have bad experiences with MGTOWs I've seen. What am I saying or understanding wrong, if anything? Should I just not worry about MGTOWs? Why not? I really need to know because right now the MRM doesn't seem much better than feminism. It seems like the MRM is OK with a group that I see as sexist be so prevalent in their movement. I know that the MRM doesn't stand up for women's rights and that is OK, but to have a group that seems so anti-women as part of the MRM seems very bad. I hope this made sense. My thoughts were all over the place, but I hope it all comes together well enough for people to be able to understand.
