Gentlemen,

Today after three years of grueling court appearances, GAL reports, multiple home visits, a court-appointed psychologist, and a full trial, I was officially awarded sole-custody of my son.

I just want to encourage everyone that there are just judges out there. The system isn't against us. And we are not victims.

I know my case doesn't mean that everyone's will be the same. I know that there are some people who don't get a fair shake. But I also know that despite everyone telling me that I wouldn't be able to do this, that "she either had to be caught with crack or kill someone", justice was there today. If anything, let this be an encouragement: you don't have to have a lot of money, she doesn't have to be "really messed up". You can still fight for residential custody of your child. If co-parenting isn't an option, then you can seek sole-custody too.

But don't let someone scare you into not acting. Learn your rights. Read a few books. And remember, this whole thing is about your child's best interests.
