Remember how peaceful and happy we all were when Maggie was the boss, we didn't have any war and even the lower classes were so happy they took to the streets to thank Thatcher for giving them so much time off work. The problem is not a gender related problem, it is a capitalist problem. Like you were saying if we didn't give weapons to say Gadaffi in 2004, then France or Germany etc. sure as hell would have. And why? Because this is the way the world works.

And let's not forget the White Feather Campaign during WWI.

The White Feather Campaign began with the creation of the white feather as a symbol of cowardice and unfulfilled civic duty. With the war effort and the recruitment campaign in full swing, the women of the White Feather would present any healthy young Englishman in civilian dress with this token, in order to symbolize their scorn for him and his failure to be man. Upon receipt of a white feather, these men were being told that they weren’t “real men” and that the women around them looked upon this apparent lack of masculinity with disgust. The campaign was meant to make these men question their gender identity and hopefully drive them to enlist in the military so that they could correct this perceived imbalance.

Bring up the fact that since women got the right to vote in this country, we have dropped more nuclear bombs and killed more humans in wars than in all pre-suffrage years combined.

Her point is just as valid as this one. (which is not at all)

In Spain we have quotas in politics. Man and woman make no difference in that field: Same lies, same corruption, same manipulation, same despite for people, etc.

Power tends to corrupt people. Also, politics attracts to many greedy and manipulative persons, as well as some naive people. For the rest, you may enter with very good intentions, but the system won't let you do whatever you want, you need support from other politicians. Dirty field, you know.

Another issue is that people tends to overestimate themselves in general. A classic experiment asks students if they think they will perform over or under the average media of the class. At the end results show a notable and persistent overestimation. It's a framing effect (cognitive biases). (Source: Paul Bloom, University of Yale)

My conclusion is that your female workmate is likely mistaken.

Just tell her that men will continue to be in power until women realize such simple things such as this, that even if all politicians will be female the world will never reach world peace.

This is the womens labor union talking, by that I mean feminists, feminism functions very much like a labor union for women, imo. Most of what it asks for isn't true or real, it's a bargaining position based on the theatre of politics.

Go ask the workers at the dmv about job cuts and they'll say: "my union won't allow it".

Now, though you don't know it, the union talked to these workers ahead of time and said, well, if we had more vacation time we'd take the pay cut, it's coming anyway and we should have a fall back position.

These ladies read in their union newletter, Ms. Magazine (insert sub-division read by your friends), that if women stump to be bosses women would have more job advanement opportunities, when ever you can at work or a dinner party evangalize for more women in power.

So, at work they announce more layoffs, the women reflexley say....if more women were in power.

And will they ever listen or open a discussion....never, they will refer you to their union who does their thinking for them.

It's just her opinion, no big deal. You didn't have to respond to it. Your opinion wasn't much better anyway. It's not as if you were having a highly intelligent conversation laying down carefully thought out arguments and ideas. At least it doesn't seem like that to me.
