The sad thing is, he probably does care about men's rights, he just can't advocate for them without a backlash from women's groups.

It's political suicide for any politician to give any attention whatsoever to men's issues.

Romney would have said the same thing. Going against feminists (entrenched in all of academia, government bureaucracies, lobbyists, etc) is political suicide. The only difference between Obama and Romney in terms of feminists with their binders full of women is that Obama is smart enough to know that if he wasn't proactive then they would have been harping his ass all over their controlled outlets.

Think back during the stimulus spending "crisis" of all things. He's trying to inject money into areas hurt the most (that happened to be male dominated). This outburst of not putting women on a pedestal (even though their sectors were doing fine in fact gaining jobs at the same time) could not be tolerated.

Seriously. I just can't understand how some people hate this man. I know that he's not perfect, but he clearly moves with the best intentions. His capacity to empathize is amazing.

Exactly. He's the first president who seems like a normal guy. He reminds me of my friends. He's somebody who's willing to set aside his own ideological leanings to try and compromise and unite people. People who spit in his face and call him a communist dictator, and seriously believe it.

I'm proud that this man is my president. Growing up, I never thought I'd say that about anyone. His compassion cuts straight through my cynicism.

Politics aside, this was a beautiful, honest moment. Whether you like his policies or not, please don't think that he doesn't have the public good at heart.

I think my favorite part from the video is when he said "and I know that you won't disappoint me." Just checking, since I'm fairly young and new to this/old and forgetful, but isn't he the one who is supposed to be worried about disappointing us?

The irony is that if we elect a female president she'll prob pay lip service to mens issues to avoid being labeled as "only caring about women". Similar to how Obama never did much for the black community while Dubya did a lot for the black community and even Africa.
