The woman decides if she wants to give birth or not, and if yes, the man decides if he wants to be a father or not. There is no better solution because you cannot (and should not) force a woman to give birth if she does not want to.

If you're a man and you want a child look for a woman with similar goals. You shouldn't want a child with a woman who does not want one.

Scenario A: The woman wants to keep the child and the man does not. She carries it to term, and he has the option to sign away his parental rights or pay child support. Whatever happens, he cannot force her to get an abortion.

Scenario B: The man wants to keep the child and the woman does not. If she wants an abortion, that sucks for the dude, but that's her choice. If she wants to.give birth to it, but not take care of it herself, the father could always step in and take care of it.

If the man wants the child and the woman does not:

Either the woman has the child and signs over all parental rights to the father, and she is exempt from child support, or has an abortion. You don't get to control what someone else does with their body.

If the woman wants the child, but the man does not:

The man can sign away parental rights to the mother, and be exempt from child support.

In either case of one parent signing away parental rights, the other parent will receive tax-funded child support payments from the government.

The fairest and most equitable way is to allow the party which does not want to keep the child to relinquish all rights and obligations to the child.

The mother should always have the right to abort and the father should get no say in that. It is here body, after all. However the father should have the right to walk away from the mother and child with no bill for child support in the event that the mother does decide to have the child and the father does not want to keep it.

I cannot justify a man forcing pregnancy upon a woman against here will. If the man wants the child and the woman does not, she should have no obligation to do so.

If the scenario is reversed, the man should have no obligation to support the mother, financial or otherwise.

This seems to be the closest to a fair solution, considering differences in biology and modern technology.

Before anyone argues the case of the woman needing financial support to raise a child (in the second scenario), I would argue the point that a single father or married couple would be expected to evaluate their financial solvency before deciding to raise or adopt a child. Women are intelligent, capable, rational, people, and should not be exempt from this expectation of personal responsibility.

If you believe the rights and well being of a child are paramount then Abortion should be illegal and no fault divorce should be revoked, while child support is completely reasonable.

However, If you believe that an individuals rights to body integrity etc. is paramount. Then along with abortion being a women's right to choose comes a man's right to choose who he supports with his labor and life.

You can choose one position or the other while being intellectually honest. You can not be pro abortion and pro child support and not be a fuckwit

If one party wants to give up the child and the other party wants to keep the child, problem solved. If the giver-upper is the man, he should assist in the child's support and work out visitation if he wishes. If the giver-upper is a woman, she should do the same.

The smartest thing to do would be for the mother to recognize that without the father's involvement and a stable family setting then that kid is going to be more fucked up than she or it can handle and will then get an abortion and select better next time.

It is simple, the woman has all the rights in this situation. Which is actually fair, well fairer than the man getting the final say, since it is her body. If the couple wishes to remain as a couple the man just has to deal with it. If they split the man will still be responsible for child support. Basically what the woman wants the woman gets.

All couples should have the discussion 'what will we do if we get pregnant?'. It does not mean the woman won't change her mind, but it does help set boundaries.
