The /r/MensRights sidebar is badly in need of revisions. Some of the articles linked are more hateful and bitter than useful and informative. The first impression from reading it is that this is a group about hating feminism, not about MensRights.

Examples:

  1. "Earning scorn from bigoted feminists and white knights since." Seriously guys? Can we be pro-equality instead of anti-anti-equality?

  2. link 1. The entire post sounds angry. Don't preach to the choir, preach to the person reading it for the first time. A rewrite/removal is badly needed.

  3. link 2. From "overweight angry lesbian," all the way to the bottom, this article drips with hate, anger, and discrimination. Not solidarity, not purpose, and not resolve. Get better articles.

In sum, the sidebar content is crappy and makes us look like a bunch of angry asshats. Instead, can we get some content that makes it look like we have legitamite grievances (as we do indeed have them)? Instead of showing off our anger and our hate, can we show off our resolve and our purpose?

Edit: I wanted to provide a brief list of MRM issues and which ones relate to feminism.

  1. MGM - created by religion (religions that were run by men).

  2. Child support inequality - created by men and perpetuated by feminism

  3. Uneven distribution of workplace deaths - cause by men, ignored (but not perpetuated) by feminism.

  4. false rape accusations / breakdown of our justice system - caused by feminism, while they were attempting to do a good thing (reduce rape).

Let's be very clear. Feminism DID NOT create all the problems. They did create some of them. And they do perpetuate some of them. But fundamentally feminism is working towards an egalitarian future, not one where women rule and men are their slaves.
