Run Sweetheart Run is a new horror movie on Netflix, and the theme sums up the current wave of misandry well. The antagonist is a white male with blue eyes, who is in responsible for the oppression of women since the dawn of time. His only goal is to control women throughout history, until he runs into the protagonist, a single black mother.
She survives multiple attacks until she reaches a convent of females who explain to her that the world is changing, and women are taking over. After marching to the song “Don’t tell me what to do.,” she lures him to the final showdown using her period blood and makes him let down his guard by promising sex, which leads to his demise.
The message is loud and clear: White men are the source of all the evil that is in the world. This is the most trendy and popular message in modern media, and Netflix pulled no punches trying to drive that message home.
