I have met a lot of young men that were surprised that the draft is still even a thing. A lot of states quietly sign you up without asking, when you get a driver's license or other government issued ID when you are of age.

Women only want the good parts of equality. Equality has costs and women refuse to pay those.

Of course, none of this is about equality. Women already have far more legal rights and privileges than men do and they never stop pushing for more. Feminism stopped being about equality a long time age. It's been a supremacist and hate movement for many years now.

Stop trying to appease women. We've been doing that for 50 years and they hate us more now that we've given them everything they have asked for. The only option left is to fight like hell.

I was wondering how the draft works if someone is transgender. I am guessing that things would not be different compared to non transgender people. Do transgender people have to get register or unregistered for the draft? For example if a woman transitions and becomes a man do they get drafted because they now identify as a man to society? If they are a man then do they have the same responsibilities as a non transgender man such as being drafted? If a man transitions to a woman do they get undrafted because women are not drafted in war?

This is worse than even a gendered problem, when one takes a look at which demographic of men make up the majority of the cannon fodder in today's military. It's mostly the sons(and to a lesser extent daughters)of the most impoverished Americans who carry most of the load, when it comes to fighting our nations' wars. It ain't shocking to learn that Abu Ghariab and Eddie Gallagher were hardly isolated incidents..... Those of us who are firmly middle class and above have done everything in our power to duck and dive around the burden of war, and dumped it onto the heads of the most poorly educated and psychologically unwell people in our society

The draft shouldn't exist at all, but as long as it does, women should be required to register.

Now granted, I don't have the most relevant opinion on this because even though I am female, if I was ever in the position of being drafted, I would be a conscientious objector based on my religious beliefs.

Still, I think the priority should be on abolishing the draft entirely. Or design it so that those who voluntarily register for selective service are rewarded (tax breaks, scholarships, etc) but it is not a requirement with penalties for refusing.

Abolishing the draft shouldn’t be a gendered issue. Yes it’s completely fucked that only men are drafted. But blaming women for problems caused by the government is just shifting blame. Having everyone drafted isn’t the solution, abolishing it is. Instead of complaining that it won’t because women aren’t effected, try actually focusing on getting rid of it instead of making the problem bigger
