"#MeToo is over if we don’t listen to ‘imperfect victims’ like Amber Heard"; Gross article denies Men can be victims of abuse & encourages people to never believe Men. Individuals such as this are why so many Men feel uncomfortable about opening up or seeking support.

If it takes this much pain & suffering for someone as wealthy/famous as Johnny Depp to get justice, imagine the amount of struggling the average man goes through in a False Accusation

Judging how wheel of time and rings of power turned out, maybe it’s a blessing in disguise Amazon let it go.

True , i dont want to watch Conan the respectfull Male feminist

[–]TheBowlofBeans 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

CONAN WHAT IS BEST IN LIFE?

To crush the patriarchy. See young women driven to succeed. And to hear the lamentations of the cishet white men.

[–]dumwitxh 6 points7 points8 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You are saying it like netflix is better

[–]B3owul7 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They already butchered He-Man.

What happened with rings of power? I enjoyed it, but hated wheels of time

[–]NorthwestDM 15 points16 points17 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Chiefly it disrespects and disregards the original creator's work with what can only be taken as the joyous abandon of the "Creatives" responsible for it.

Ehh that doesn’t matter to me as a huge Tolkien fan, I think it’s a great show with really awe inspiring effects, and I would rather have new stories than none at all. Stories and art are made to be changed so doesn’t bother me much, if they went back and deleted it all and replaced it that’d be different lol. Sucks but is what it is, I enjoy the universe to much to let it bother me much lol.

You dare like the Rings of Power? When the internet has deemed it unwatchable? What fit of maniactic herracy have come over you?

[–]Marty-the-monkey -2 points-1 points0 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Looking at the vote counter, my previous comment seemed to have come true ;)

Dammit. Another show I won’t watch.

Oh well, I prefer Korean rom cons on Netflix anyway. Not social justice messaging.

Is a two hour Gillette man hating commercial movie going to be that good?

[–]nambivpn 9 points10 points11 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Me too. I’m keeping Netflix only because it is the only OTT platform in my country that has good K-drama collection. They don’t whine about patriarchy, toxic masculinity, and have really solid storyline.

[–]miladiashe 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Korea is one of worst feminist country, and filming and broadcast industry is female-centered in here.

I don't know what you're watching, but i quit drama few years ago because it IS feminist messaging tool.

Yet another example of an unprofessional and sexist female leader. What a surprise...

[–]Terrible_Head_8847 17 points18 points19 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

There's been too much high fantasy recently so some low fantasy Conan will feel pretty fresh. It's a shame the Jason Momoa remake was so bad, he was decent in it but almost everything else was kind of boring.

[–]Patriotic_Guppy 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I loved the opening when Conan was a youth. I’ve probably seen it ten times but never watched the rest of the movie.

[–]spelczech 16 points17 points18 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That's it? That's the article? Studio head finds Toxic Masculinity (seriously, it was capitalized)? Fuck, yet another woman studio exec who didn't read the source material. Apparently the stoic, never-say-die Conan the Barbarian wasn't in touch with his feminine side enough.

That's the point of the character, Jennifer. He's a badass that doesn't take shit from people, does what he wants, and doesn't have a problem with it. He's Conan the Barbarian, not Conan the Centered.

Fuck

[–]orcwordlaugh 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

My favourite Conan quote, though not in the movie:

"Civilized men are more discourteous than savages because they know they can be impolite without having their skulls split."

Scrapped a Gritty Conan the Barbarian Series, Forced it To Move To Netflix

So does this mean the Gritty Conan will come to Netflix? 'Cause that sounds great!

I hope people get their heads chopped off, and someone loses a toe!

So very Toxic!

So pleased that women in positions of influence are showing the world how much better they can do everything? By influsing their sexist bias and gender hatred into their work, sprouting hate speech and gynocentric chatter.

[–]Beaver_Buster 10 points11 points12 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Off topic but they already remade it and it didn't compare. James earl Jones and Arnold is going to be hard to match.

[–]aries0413 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is why I watch anime.

'Conan the Male Ally'

[–]Scandi_Navy 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's not about what men want to see. It's about what I want men to see. I will show them men that are bumbling baffoons.

[–]blaizken_420 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Not even allowed to have role models on TV. But sure, men are the privileged gender.

[–]ExMuzzy 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Even without the gender politics Netflix and Amazon content are mostly shit so I don't even bother with them anymore. They are just making thoughtless originals to fill out their catalogue since it's getting harder to license stuff with all the different streaming platforms.

[–]whatever13576569 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Great, now Netflix can make an awesome opening scene and then follow it up with 80 minutes of a trash movie.

[–]McFeely_Smackup 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If the name sounds similar to you, then yes, this series was set to follow the same source material that was followed by Arnold Schwarzenegger’s 1982 critically and commercially

Did this person really just ask if "Conan the Barbarian" sounded familiar?

[–]almostadaddy 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

In fairness, I'd probably drive shows I didn't like over to the Lifetime channel.
