Was pleasently surprised to see this in a shopping centre just outside of York, UK.

It's a baby changing/take your kid to the toilet room in the men's toilets.

It was nice to see something that wasn't telling me I was a potential pedophile but actually that men might want to be fathers so I thought I'd share it.

Makes a change from the posts you see of men's toilets being completely removed.

Here in Australia it's been quite a long time since they were called mother's rooms. They are called parents rooms and open to anyone with a baby or small child for nappy change, feeding, toilets etc. As a mum I regularly see dad's taking their kids in there which is great.

3 year old needed to use the toilet in Paddington station. Might as well all go, cause London right, and it is like 30p per person, so as we (family of four) get to the front, the attendant just opens the disabled/changing room for us, and refuses our attempt to pay. Which was nice.

In Japan many places like shopping malls and stations have a men's washroom, a women's washroom, and a multipurpose/gender washroom which is big enough for disabled people and also has a changing table. also many men's and women's toilet stalls have "child seats" on the wall of the stall.

The biggest surprise was a funeral I went to.

The deceased's baby (such a sad case) had to be changed and we couldn't find a changing table in the women's room. There was one however in the men's room. It was really weird.

In the UK by law shops and service providers must provide baby changing facilities that men can use to change children in their care. Otherwise there would be discrimination in the provision of a service which is against the law.

I have been very happy that most of the public restrooms I've been in, here in the Midwest US, have a changing table in the men's restroom just as they do in the women's.

There are still a couple of smaller restaurants we go to that do not, and my wife has to take changing duty in those places. But they are the exception rather than the rule.

Where I'm at, many bathrooms for larger private organizations for both sexes have diaper changing stations.

I took my son to a doctor's appointment at a children's clinic facility. They had other practices too but they had a kids playroom and what not. I took my son into the bathroom and there were no changing tables. I was furious. I told the girl at check in, "really, I'm at children's facility and there's no chAnging table in the men's room. That's ridiculous"

I've been lucky here in the US, never had issues with a changing table being in the women's room only.

My city, not going to say which, I noticed has change tables in every men's room in every municipal building I've been to.
