AI girlfriends and robots will be a new gateway for men. At the moment its shamed and laughed at - but as the technology evolves and times change - it will be seen as normal. The same way internet dating wasn't cool originally but now its the main way of dating. In the next 10 years men will see a transformation similar to the positive impacts of feminism on women (I'm not saying that the waves of feminism didn't come with some issues).

With a new world of normalised non human partners for men and women - loneliness will diminish and deep meaningful connections with entities (think of the film Her) will flourish in so many ways. People will forget the old ways like they never happened. The endless internet dating, the rejection, etc will become a thing of the past. Connected relationships that are fulfilling emotionally, spiritually, sexually etc will become the norm. Don't get stuck into thinking how the technology will exactly work in what form - brain interface, physical forms. - focus on future generations that will have a whole new world opened up to them. Obviously new technology will have its challenges but I think overall its positive force which will reduce suffering for many lonely people.
