That is what the doctors used to ask me first, in an assessment how far they were willing to restrict my movement when i start saying similar shit.

Buddy, you seem to be in a very dark mental situation. I have to ask: do you have any guy friends? If not, you could try to pick up a low energy hobby like painting or chess. I play DotS like crazy and it helps me forget about the loneliness.

As far as I know, there is no country that allows euthanasia without a terminal illness of some sort. I could be wrong on that, but I'm fairly certain that's accurate. So if you want out, you gotta do it the old fashioned way.

That being said, I can't recommend that course of action. It's a coward's choice. If you are a man, then be one and face your life.

You aren't defined by the actions of other people towards you. How others treat you doesn't matter. But what's clear is that you need to get out of this slump before you do end up on the wrong side of the dirt.

My first and immediate suggestion is to go get some damn anti-depressants. You won't be on them forever, but you need some intervention right this moment. Once you've taken the edge off, you can start to rebuild yourself.

You have to discover what makes you miserable, and what makes you happy. I had to change my entire life to get happy and get out of my crippling depression. This is the way, and it's the only way.

You have to work to make things better.

You've achieved freedom, you just don't realize it yet. Many people are slaving away thinking it means something. You're past that. You've seen the truth - we're conditioned to be consumers and marketed to want things we don't need. You're already saying, fuck that. Now you just need to start living selfishly and having fun. There are awesome hobbies in the world, cool experiences, great projects to do. It takes work, but man up and get doing it.

This is gonna sound radical, this being reddit and usually super-liberal, but had a cousin go through similar around 2005. He re-enlisted in the army, did a bunch of tours. Lives in Austin now, we talk often, he works for a Korean company, six figures, super relaxed, his hobby is going to concerts.

The reason why I make the suggestion, is if your life feels that monotonous, if you feel like that, in reality it is your environment and the people in it, and sometimes, joining a group of crazy people on adventures puts everything into perspective. Doesn't even have to be Army, they all have their occupational hazards, sure, but like Navy is even more chill and they don't call it the Chair Force for nothing. Thing is, you need to break ties with your current environment, get some distance between you and that place. Put things into perspective. If I were you I would enlist, and, after whatever path you take has given it time, I would think twice about ever going back.

Not enlisting is my one regret at my age. And I have a bachelor's and two master's degrees. You need to make sure your time, whatever it is your allowance got you, is well spent. The armed forces are the only places remaining where men are allowed to thrive as men. Everywhere else is invaded by idiot karens who don't even do any of the work and always try and take all the credit. I am sure, with time, we as men will claw back and retake what was ripped from us. But the armed forces, for now, are the only place in western civilization where our spaces are still respected. Where achievement and the meritocracy still thrives. We are made for structure and brotherhood, not to be hearing from a woman with an absent father figure why we men should "embrace modern masculinities" or whatever stupid nonsense they try and sell. Men achieve things, build cities, explore, conquer, build as brothers, and when we are respected. This current thing isn't it. You are not crazy, but you are falling victim to their rhetoric, for which I ask you to step off the ledge, and change your life and become unrecognizeable and untameable as result.
