Touching someone without their consent is abuse. Unless they are men, apparently.

Seen a few of these now, but all of them show only men as the paedophiles. I get it's more common for men to be paedophiles, but it's not 100%.

Very weird. Haven't seen anything like that before

Edit: Found this: https://www.reveddit.com/v/u_UK-government/

Edit2:

On this page: https://enough.campaign.gov.uk/when-you-witness-abuse/ways-to-help there's this:

Want to see how you could put these techniques into practice? Try out these scenarios.

Your friend catcalls in the street

Controlling behaviour in your family

A stranger groping a woman in a club

In all three examples the man is the perpetrator and a woman is a victim

Yes, quite odd that happened. Links appreciated though.

Going from your other reply. It was in a TV advert? I might try to find it

NGL I don't really watch TV, so not sure if it was a TV ad too - though it quite possibly will be.

that account u./UK government is so sus ( the fullstop was intentional )

There is not premise in law for incidental touching being an offense or a tort. So no, it's not abuse. It's perfectly normal for people to touch, psychologically necessary in fact.

it's mostly a woman thing.. A gross creepy ugly middle aged guy could randomly walk up to me and give me a bear hug and I wouldn't mind.. Anyone can touch me anywhere and I wouldn't care as long as it's not too annoying

Well it is directed at girls and women. Yes it would be better if it was to everyone but at least something.

It never said that it is not towards men.

>Well it is directed at girls and women. Yes it would be better if it was to everyone but at least something

I see your point, but the issue is that the ad "implied" unwanted touching only happens to women and girls.

> It never said that it is not towards men.

No it did not, but it also did not say it was.

This is kinda searching issues just for the sake of searching issues. Yes it can be better but still better than nothing.

For a crowd complaining so much about inclusivity and representation, doesn't it bother you that women aren't represented among perpetrators to the extent that the law doesn't recognize them?

[–]UnfurtletDawn 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

We all know the only inclusivity they want is for POC, LGBTQ+ and women
