You mean to tell me there is video of her showing interest in him, walking back normal and there is no evidence or DNA that they had and he got 12 years in prison?!? Wtf!!! Then an all white jury with majority women. He was set up to fail smh

I don't think the problem was that the jury was all white, I think the problem was that it was majority women.

In several different forums I've been told that a man stands a better chance with a female juror than a male juror, but this contradicts everything I have seen and when I ask for a source it's always been crickets.

The article states Brock Turner was convicted of rape. He was not.

The article is rightly outraged on the low evidence threshold used to convict. In fact a reasonable peson would probably decide that the weight of evidence was that this was a false allegation. This is fine if depressing but the assumption is that this is race related. This is not a safe assumption as white men have frequently been convicted on similar or even worse evidence.

There seems a reluctance to accept men as men, as opposed to men as members of some other disadvantaged group can be treated poorly. I am sure that as teh disadvantages stack up, male, poor, black things get worse but the biggest factor is just being male.

And I bet the girl has no sense of guilt. They have no agency at all. She is 17 and lied about her age, and there is no outwardly difference between a 17 and 18. I hope he gets an appeal.

Why would you? If you go to somewhere that checks age, you assume that they're all checked, and thus, legal.

To be honest, this does sound like a race and sex issue, cause he's a black guy he got totally fucked when there was no supporting evidence aside from a bruise, which i don't quite know how you would get a bruise on your thigh... might've just been a love bite, I've seen those get out of hand.

I'd go for a retrial because that is a really fuckin harsh sentence.
