Also, no amount of cultural change on the part of other people is going to make a sane woman climb into a car with a weirdo with a hero complex. You can change the culture all you want, but this guy's problem is not solved because he IS the problem.

Okay yeah that whole having women cross the street just because you happen to be walking the same direction legitimately sucks.

Declining to get into a strangers car in the middle of the night is just common fucking sense. Also from what I can tell she didn't even make any fuss about it, just kindly declined. Maybe she just didn't want to bother him, maybe she enjoyed walking, maybe she didn't like the idea of getting into a strangers car regardless of that persons sex.

This guy needs to get over himself.

I've offered help to woman in the past like this before, only to be refused without reason or even maligned for offering the help. The fault doesn't lie in "those assholes who made men look bad" though. That's bullshit. Not just because those women are solely accountable for their own bigotry or prejudices, but because this idea that those women refused the help because of those men is absolutely ridiculous as well. Most women would be perfectly fine with chauvanistic assholes when it really comes down to it, often even prefer them(especially if they are tall, attractive and brash), but when it really comes down to it those women have prejudices because they choose to have prejudices towards men, or because society as a whole has prejudices towards men.

So instead of blaming the people (men and women) that have blown the fear of attack to epic proportions he chooses to blame the people who attack women?

Id be fine with that if he wasn't acting so hurt over not being able to help a woman.

Its up to her to decide to trust an offer of a ride. Pissing about it online just makes him look like a child.
