I’ve often heard the saying: “if it wasn’t for double standards, feminism wouldn’t have any standards at all”. (Says it all, IMO.)

Because we’ve normalized a misandrist double standard.

Over time, social narratives and political incentives have trained society to excuse negative behavior from women while demanding restraint, accountability, and emotional control almost exclusively from men. Same actions, different consequences.

That imbalance doesn’t stop at school or the workplace — it bleeds into dating and relationships. A lot of educated men eventually clock the pattern and opt out, not out of anger, but because the mental cost isn’t worth it.

And then comes the irony: endless complaints about “where are the good men?” while many of those men have simply decided that peace, autonomy, and mental health beat constant blame and risk.

They didn’t disappear. They stopped volunteering for trouble.

Women can selectively infantalize themselves to avoid accountability, when convenient, and they're good at it.

This extends to pretty insane lengths too. The amount of times I've seen domestic violence written off as nothing and people immediately jumping to defend the perpetrator just because they're a girl and "must have had a good reason". Even extending that to sentencing for other violent crimes including literal murder, it's much lighter than for similar crimes committed by men.

It's because for a lot of people women and children are vulnerable but men are not.

Have you ever noticed that they are always talking about innocent women killed in Gaza and putting pressure on Israel to stop them but the innocent men harmed or killed are almost always ignored or forgotten.

Gamma patterns, research on this, it's something that has been happening for a long time, so much so that we don't even realize it. Women have Marianism working in their favor; the role of mother has been overvalued, the role of father has been removed from families both in terms of authority and physical presence. Men work more outside the home, so we are children raised without a father figure and without male figures to guide us, and accustomed to obeying our mothers and, by extension, the female figure.

Additionally, every single time something goes wrong in relationships, dating, or even society at large, the default narrative is almost always: “it’s the man’s fault.”

For example:

Cheating? He wasn’t good enough.
Bad Breakup? The assumption automatically points to, "he must've been toxic/abusive/controlling. You can do better queen." I do understand that some guys are genuinely heartless, abusive, and will beat up anyone to get their way, but that is NOT the majority of men.
She deliberately posts thirst traps online for money? Empowering queen, don’t kink-shame, don’t judge her choices.
She has an insanely high body count? "My past doesn't matter."
She wants constant attention/validation even when supposed to be in a serious relationship? "Come on, you're so insecure." "What, are you jealous?"

The same platforms that ban men for “harassment” if they even mildly criticize a woman’s content lets women openly sell explicit material to millions, which many of whom are young boys. How is this celebrated as “financial independence” and “body positivity?” IF anything, it is downright inappropriate and probably illegal considering they are targeting underage boys.

Accountability seems to be a one-way street. Women can do almost anything and it’s either excused or praised whereas If men did even a fraction of those actions, there would be immediate action against him from friends, family, and the public.

The reason for such an extreme double-standard is how soft society got. The people at the top are literally the biggest simps of all: they sold out masculinity if it meant getting some attention from females. It's a clown world. Apparently, you are evil, an abuser, or whatever excuse/name people try to shame you of being for even disagreeing with her view points or just saying "NO".

When I was about 5 or 6 there was this girl at school who'd constantly follow me, hit me, harass me, and my parents and teachers just said "she just likes you!!1!!1!" like, no..? She told me multiple times that she fucking despised me. Imagine if the genders were swapped.

Your female coworker can be nasty to you, say what’s on her mind, have an attitude, do a poor job and that’s ok.

That's to you. Not to me. She will be checked if she decides to cross a boundary.

But most males allow it because they are afraid of repercussions. So we then have a feedback loop that keeps perpertuating the problem.

Also, males care too much about being liked and perceived as nice good guys.

If that's true, how did the US elect a misogynist, who's been accused of sexual assault by dozens of women, who's been implicated in sex crimes against underaged girls, who bought a beauty pageant to be able to walk in their dressing room, if society doesn't accept bad behavior from men, how did Trump get elected to the White house in 2016 AND 2024?
