It is extremely hard to prove, and you would need to pay a lawyer. So, you would spend lots of money, with very little chance of winning.

Sure you can. The question is mainly 1) can she afford to pay 2) can you afford to pay and 3) what is the probability of winning? For 3), you should know that the US favors free speech and thus has much weaker libel/slander/privacy laws than the UK and Europe.

These women don't typically have much money
Lawyers cost a lot
Even if you get a judgment it can sometimes be hard to collect it
It could be difficult to prove in court, depending on the circumstances
Most of the time, the victim of the accusation just wants to move on and forget the whole thing. It can take years for litigation to sort itself out, and often the man has already had his life in shambles for some time.

Simple really : You can sue but proving that it was a false accusation isn't really very easy. You'd think it would be but usually it's virtually impossible to prove such that it meets legal requirements.

Secondly , even if you win , odds are that you'll never see a dime. So even if I get a whole bunch of restitution money somehow , I could spend it all on lawyers and never see my judgement anyway. It's pointless basically.

Then you have guys who are just sick and tired of the legal system. Nothing happens quickly. Six months for one trial date just to find out that you need to collect some other evidence , somebody important didn't show up , or somebody has asked for a continuance. Who knows ? I'll tell you though , if I'd spent ten years in prison for a crime I didn't commit , I wouldn't be chomping at the bit to enter into another legal battle. I'd just want to get the fuck out and live my life.

Sure , we almost feel obligated to seek out retribution for the one who accused somebody falsely but if we were in the victim's shoes , we may have a different opinion in the end.

Shame, I would guess. Men aren't "supposed" to be victims of things like this, and they're definitely not supposed to besmirch the good name of woman.

Men tend to be better at physical conflict than social conflict, and women tend to be better at social conflict than physical conflict. One of these is significantly more illegal and stigmatized than the other.

men dont sue false accusers as it will lead to the defense labeling them as sexists and because of the difficulty to prove, the social backlash against him "he raped her and now he is suing her!" most men are just happy enough to not get prosecuted for the accusation to press charges further i think

Suing people is expensive, and not all women are wealthy. It may not be appealing to do so if we don't think we can get back more than we have to pay a lawyer for the process, especially when it's biased.

Because if by some fucking miracle you don't end up with at least one feminist on the jury who believes that a vagina entitles you to do just about anything, then the damage to your reputation regardless of guilt will most likely be worse than any damages collected.
