Synopsis:

  1. More men, especially divorced men see the financial cost of marriage and decide the benefits aren’t worth it. Another financial point that I can relate to is that often shared expenses are about what the woman wants, not what the man values. (He doesn’t value that new couch, the expensive dinner out, the package trip to Europe to look at churches)

  2. Men also see that relationships often mean giving up freedom, autonomy, etc., and again wonder if these sacrifices are worth it. I definitely see this in my current relationship: she views any free time as time I should be doing something she wants to do or something for her. I find this point especially interesting given the many articles talking about the mental energy women expend in relationships, the demands in men largely ignored.

What are your experiences and thoughts on these points?
