Thanks to the medicine I take, and the cognitive/group therapy offered to me, I'm far saner than most people without mental illness. At the very least, I don't blame my temptations on invisible monsters from another dimension and I'm not paranoid about gay marriage.

I've yet to see men denied help for their mental illness. I've seen plenty of men denying they need it. If they're terrified people might think them less men for manning up and taking the helping hand that's offered, they're part of the problem. They don't deserve your pity.

As for men killing themselves more, it's because they use guns instead of pills and cutting. Women try to kill themselves more, but the internet screams we're supposed to dismiss that as just attention whoring. Why?

Do you tell that to women who're raped and don't report to the police? That they're perpetuating rape culture? If not, then why the double-standard?

Also: You don't think the sickening "man up" message might just have something to do with it? That they don't believe they're not supposed to talk about it? That they're not supposed to just shut up and deal? That doesn't enter into it AT ALL?

Oh, that didn't take long. As per usual, when talking about the suicide of men, it's "oh but women attempt it more". Yep, take it to another thread. I don't really care because they actually GET help. It's a bit late when the victim is DEAD.

Yes, that happens a lot in many different studies. It's called "confirmation bias". You'll find it in every single study on the mythological wage gap.
