Women are generally taken seriously when complaining about assault and harassment.

Men mainly complain about hot women not wanting to fuck them.

Pretty big difference.

I sympathize with either gender being harassed, much less sympathy for not being able to get laid.

Yup, this is true.

And yet, "women's issues" are talked about by activists, entire communities formed around raising awareness about them, there are progressive youtube videos dedicated to such topics, and they are literalyl taught in universities.

Also true.

Meanwhile women collectively get offended by the concept of "hypergamy"... when it's literally a statistical fact that women are still more likely to date up.

Speaking purely as an individual, the only time I get upset about hypergamy discussions is when someone states that I personally an hypergamous, with the sole reason for said claim is that I'm a woman. Despite them knowing absolutely nothing about my relationship, and how I very specifically keep it equal or even in his favor. It's like calling an American a Christian when they're an atheist...it's just an inaccurate statement needlessly presented as automatically true, because statistically there are many more Christians here.

How come?

Why are men's issues not taken seriously? Because unfortunately misandry exists and some people have made it trendy to dismiss men and their problems.

So, I think anyone is allowed to complain about anything they like, obviously. It's just words at the end of the day and you go for it captain underpants.

But I think the real question you're asking is something like...why are women's complaints taken seriously and men's are not? Which is, perhaps, on the face of it a somewhat fair question to ask. Why are we being told average men are in relationships when we complain like that is the answer and women aren't being told that?

I think, my first and obvious instinct is that a lot of the men doing the complaining aren't average, but they're presenting themselves as that and saying the standards to get in those relationships are ridiculous. So it is a correct answer to tell these non-average men that the standard isn't super high, they just aren't meeting it. (Which is typically not very nice, not very helpful, but tragically true.)

If you mean more broadly speaking, I hate to say it this way, but I can't think of another way....I don't really see mentioning what I would call like problems in the purest sense. You bring up hypergamy which for the moment we will assume is real and correctly portrayed...that isn't a problem really. It's perhaps a representation of reality, but it isn't a problem like say men sending unsolicited dicks to women is a problem (which admittedly as frustrating and gross as dick picks are...this isn't even that huge a problem).

Like the other stuff you mentioned is a real problem for women (and honestly men. The porn for example is MOSTLY bad for you and bad for women as a secondary thing unless we focus on like the making of porn which is admittedly far more predatory towards women). In a sense, I think much of this is like how a lot of women have to pressure their men to go to hospitals for physical medical treatment. It only helps us because then our men aren't dying of like preventable illness. It's not actually about us persay.

Finally, a lot of the stuff in your female list is largely systems criticism. The media portrayal and body positivity being first to mind. And while I'm sure men could make their own, the truth is, media portrayal of men is much more diverse than women. There is more positivity towards different male body types. There is less predation and creation of male body issues.

I think we'd all be happy to listen to men criticize systems more, I think that's probably where the real beef might be at in some cases. Instead, it seems like mostly, y'all yell about how you can't get laid and women are to blame for the fact you aren't happy. Hopefully, you know I'm trying to see the other side on this, but there really isn't one for that grievance. The right answer is average men get laid and are sort of equally unhappy to women. It's not fun to hear that your problems while hurting you aren't anyone else's problem or worth a lot of study, but it's kind of true in a lot of cases.
