Does someone having an STD/STI affect your choice in whether you'd like to date or marry them?

Chlamydia although sexually transmitted is curable. I think you're meaning to suggest non life threatening (why you're omitting HIV) but not yet curable STD/Is. But please correct me if I'm wrong.

For me it would depend on the individual, how knowledgeable they were about their communicable disease, how well they looked after themselves, if they took preventative medication, and ultimately if I really feel a connection with them. If he were actually worth the risk. I'm not gonna lie, it would deter me, but if I met a person that felt like my 'person' I wouldnt pass by on them necessarily, especially if they were forthright and didnt try to put me at risk by attempting to sleep with me prior to discussing it.

Now if a fella tried to leave his shoes under my bed without being forthright about that kind of information, obviously no. But those sorts of men are waving many red flags long before that opportunity would approach.

If it something like a cold sore, meh. They’re extremely common. If it’s a true STD I’d probably lose interest in having sex with that person. That said I know a number of genital herpes sufferers that are happily married so clearly it’s not a dealbreaker for many folks.

Definitely not marrying anyone who has ever had chlamydia, genital warts, or the less common version of herpes. Even though chlamydia can be cured, I don't want anyone with an increased chance to get cancer, or give me throat cancer, because I love oral.

Depends on the STD for sure. The curable ones are just a shot or a pill. Most people have HPV if you were sexually active before the vaccine. Genital herpes is probably a no go for me. Prep is a godsend for HIV, but it's so rare for white straight people to get it i never think about it. Genital herpes is the only thing that freaks me out since there's such a stigma. I get cold sores and they're not a big deal at all and I assume genital herpes is similar, but it's such a no go for most people that if that relationship failed I would hate to have to carry it with me. I feel terrible for people that have it though bc it is so stigmatized

Yes absolutely, Even assuming minimal chance of my being exposed to it (which is unlikely), I’m not willing to risk it because having an STD would mean my dating pool would shrink exponentially. Just think about it.
