How many people on here have dated foreign men or women? What countries? What was your perception of the differences? Did you prefer foreign dating to the dating of your own country? Why or why not?

I'll start. I am an American man and have dated American women. I have also dated a German woman, a couple of Brazilian women, a couple of Colombian women and a Peruvian woman.

I preferred foreign dating from all the countries mentioned because:

- You could be direct and genuine in your approach. "Games" were not required, and in fact, had a good chance of backfiring.

- I thought cultural differences made things interesting and less predictable.

- I consistently felt less judged, more valued and more free to speak my mind.

- The people I dated were far less concerned with material possessions.

- There was a greater focus on simplicity. Lunches in the park, going to museums, libraries, etc.

- The foreign women tended to be more attractive.

- Sex was better in a few ways. Wants were more easily communicated. Definitely there was more energy and less self-consciousness from the women. More passionate.
