If a guy is a doormat, will he eventually grow a spine and find a good woman who doesnt take him for granted or is it more likely he will choose bad women over and over and idealize her while telling himself “this time’s different”

If a woman is attracted to toxic men will she change? CAN she change? Or is it more likely she will forever bemoan “where have the good men gone” while going for distant unavailable men who mirror the attachment wounds she has from childhood

I personally think, based on my observations of humanity that people don’t change much. Especially when it comes to deep psychological issues like “type of person I am attracted to” or “how I conduct myself in a relationship”

I want to be optimistic and say people grow and change and become better but my experience says otherwise. But maybe it’s some kind of selection bias? Maybe healthy, evolved people are quieter.
