If this is such a big deal... why don't you just befriend new men and during one of your first conversations mention you are dating someone else (if you are at the time) OR if you want to hang out and are NOT dating anyone at the time mention you want to "hang out just a friends" or something along those lines?

I appreciate it. I only changed my relationship status from single when my gf rid herself of her orbiters and exes who would sporadically check in.

Most of her orbiters dropped out on their own accord when she started seeing me though. But a few had to be told by her that their correspondence was no longer appropriate nor necessary. I also of course kept to that standard to the best of my ability.

So I appreciate it. However, for the untrained eye, this is often “unjust” behavior. Not everyone agrees that exes can’t remain friends.
