It's a pretty accurate graphic really. The hottest girls are often some of the loneliest. Guys are intimidated and/or just assume she has a partner or just wouldn't be interested in him or even that she's just some high maintenance and vapid bitch. They will eventually marry but it's not as easy for them as it can be for others, especially if they don't settle down early.

Most of my female friends who I'd consider top tier in terms of attractiveness (does modelling work or at least gets offered it a lot) are either with the same guy they met when they were in their teens or early 20s or are perpetually single, one is 30 now has even modelled in Vogue a couple of times and she's never had a boyfriend.

I know the default and correct response to this will be that you don't see many attractive never married womwn in their late 30s onwards but those in that age group currently didn't grow up in the same SMP/RMP as now. I think you'll notice a lot more in the coming decades.

The graphics good because it shows pretty accurately for men how it is, and also that many women are left out in the cold as well.

Google "ladder theory" - that explains the RMV/SMV dichotomy.

Men only have one ladder because if a woman isn't a sexually viable mate, her RMV is a moot point (this becomes an issue for women in the fuck-zone that can't escape being a bootycall because their RMV is too low, but that's not so relevant for this discussion).

Not true for women, as there can be many guys with good RMV and subpar SMV. But female hypergamy/RP says good RMV isn't a substitute for SMV because even if she'll shack up with you, she needs to chase higher SMV or she'll just feel unsatisfied.

What many guys don't understand is being decently good looking and having some confidence/abundance mentality is all you need to have competitive SMV. But because of today's sexual climate, its hard for many guys to cultivate an abundance mentality when the SMP for guys is feast-or-famine.

My guess is it's out of date. I don't see any female 10's anymore, mostly because young women even who are very physically beautiful dress and act like hipster slobs. This could actually be a self-regulating mechanism for the lonely 10's, since women like that can encourage men who are 9's and 10's to be less intimidated or presumptive about them.

As for the 1's and 2's, they tend to "settle" for male 3's and 4's or stay alone. A lot of women in the middle (4 to 7, hence "hard 7") generally prefer to stay alone (or so they think) than "settle" for a man that is less than an 8.

Women have a lot of friends and public resources, and can get sex whenever they want (even if they're disgusting hags). In other words, a woman who doesn't get exactly what she wants has no need to "settle" for a man in her own league. Men who stay unmatched, on the other hand, shave 20-30 years off their lives (alcoholism, suicide, health problems).

i wonder if there exists a significant minority of female 7s and 8s who go for male 3s and 4s as a form of "virtue signaling". similar to how a person that grew up rich might go on to live very modestly in their adult life, as a way of rejecting materialism or whatever.

RMV and SMV aren't the same, and it's really complicated to observe an environment in which you can address one slash other without incurring in some big mistake.
Let me make a few observations.
Your RMV 10 female might have lower SMV, in which case she'd seek that which she lacks the most. RMV10+SMV6 female will love a RMV7+SMV8 male. He might treat her poorly.
Your SMV10+RMV7 female will take a SMV8+RMV9 male. Maybe she'll cheat.
Now, your girl who's 10 on both can't act hypergamous, hence, she'll be frustrated.
I've observed a few strategies to handle this.

Dating fungible guys, serial monogamy. The relationships last for the honeymoon phase. Plain serial monogamy;
Picking on a valuable trait. "He's a shorty but he has GREAT abs" (I went to the marriage of this couple about a month ago), "He's (trait) oriented and I want this now";
Embracing and even causing the lowering of one of her high values. "We all put on some weight with the space of a relationship", "I can't keep working as hard as I do once we have children and he understands and accepts this".

Now, honestly, I never met a SMV10+RMV10 person. Every woman I've seen adopting the above mentioned strategies could act hypergmous, but is somehow emotionally scarred and prefers the safety that a disposable partner provides.

Keep in mind PPD/RP seems to be mostly 20s and early 30s, there are more men than women of that age bracket (so when women say the "51% of the world is women, theres somebody out there for you!!! crap is just that. Unless you want to date an 85 year old grandmother)

There is "classic" hypergamy which follows the dictionary definition of simply marrying up. The TRP definition of hypergamy is more about women always wanting more and moving on to greener pastures when it suits them.

As a man, I think the root cause of hypergamy is the fact that women are more sexually valuable, and they invest more in procreation.

A man can have 1,000 kids a year (assuming he has sex 3x a day and each sex act leads to pregnancy). A woman can have 1 kid a year assuming each sex act leads to pregnancy. Plus a man can have kids from age 12 until death (around 80). A woman can only have kids from age 12 until around age 45.

Plus a woman puts her health at risk when she gets pregnant. She is easy prey for predators, she could get an infection, or have malnutrition. Also women invest more psychologically and physically in child rearing.

So women have far more to lose by making a bad mating decision, so they are the choosier gender because they have more to lose by picking a bad partner (this is also why they are the more neurotic gender about relationships). So they have higher standards, which in the modern age of internet dating results in a lot of women thinking 'its raining men, I"ll just select from the top 10%', not realizing many other women do the same thing.

Anyway, that is the root cause of hypergamy. Women have more to lose by making a bad mating decision, which means they have higher standards.

Rereading your OP, I don't think my answer has anything to do with what you are asking.

First off, that chart isn't about RMV or relationships, it is about flings and one night stands.

As for what happens to the leftover women? They spend their 20s and 30s chasing men out of their league looking for commitment (oblivious to the fact that those men, because they are out of their leagues, can replace them in 5 minutes on tinder), they end up empty handed and they end up very bitter because in their 30s they realize that the men who they think are in their league and good enough for them have better options (those men, if they do commit, end up committing to younger, prettier, nicer, less jaded women).

Exactly as you would expect it. A 9 is hotter than an 8. A 9 has more options and women are more attracted to him.
