Which is fine...nothing wrong with that...nothing particularly uncommon in any of that either...but why here of all places?

You don’t need anyone here to tell you that. And if you don’t know that already, someone or multiple someone’s in your life have failed at their jobs.

If he is with you and loves you, you are “good enough” for him.

If he doesn’t love you...you are good enough for him.

Your worth isn’t measured by what value some man thinks you have...to him.

He may not be good enough for you. And whether or not he is, isn’t measured by how good looking he is or how good his body is or anything impermanent anyway.

In ten years...hell...in five years...neither of you will look like you do now. In all likelihood, your lives will be very, very different than they are today.

What yardstick will you measure value by, when the changes life inevitably will bring come...and come again and again and again?

That all said, it is often difficult to see how another can value us when we can’t even see it ourselves. You can at the least trust, that at the present moment, a person as wonderful as you BF loves you now...and looking you can say that he loved you then, so you must’ve had something going for you. If his feelings do change, I can say with considerable certainty based on experience that it won’t have much, if anything at all to do with you, though it might be hard to see that if and when the time comes.

Fortunately/unfortunately, so often another person’s feelings about us are less a reflection of anything actually about us but far more a reflection of how they feel about themselves, where they are in their own lives under the weight of their own baggage...which are not your responsibility to sort out for them.

You should be your most important priority first and foremost...especially if you want to be a benefit to someone else at any point in your life.

At any rate, we should never make another person our priority if they see us merely as one of their options. If this were ever the case between you and he, it would be a clear indication that he is incapable of meeting your needs, you unsuited to meet his and time for you to move on.

You were not placed on earth for the sole purpose of meeting another person’s needs. None of us are.

And you most definitely do NOT need to be in a relationship of any kind to validate your existence.

I think that last point should be internalized by, well...ally of people, at times myself included.

Don’t lose sight of that in it all.
