Here's a story. I went for a bike ride into Manhattan. On the return, I passed a low-key "classic" 1970s hatchback car as I rode towards a red light. I stopped dismounted and came back to admire the car. If you want to admire a car, moto, or bicycle, cross your hands behind your back and lean in to look. It tells the owner that you have no ill intent. It's very subtle, but it gets noticed.

Anyway, the owner was a student at the medical college up the street, he saw me and said, "I'll trade it for your bike." I laughed. Him and his girl got closer. Looking at the car, I said "She's beautiful." Then turned and looked at his girl with a big fucking smirk.

Working out doesn't make you an asshole. You were an asshole who started to work out. When you look good, you bring something to the table. Even a dude with a fine girl and a nice car will appreciate something that you say, based on how you look and what you yourself ride.
