I don't see people discussing this enough and it's so counter to mainstream Christianity (yet so clear in the bible) that I thought I would write a post about it. Most Christians believe "if either party cheats it's a get out of jail free card" like it's a gospel truth. WRONG! Women are never permitted to initiate divorce.
Falsely legitimizing divorce is based on only two passages, Matt 5 and Matt 19:
Matt 5:31-32 “It has been said, ‘Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.’[f] 32 But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her the victim of adultery, and anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.
Matt 19:4-9 “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’[a] 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’[b]? 6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” 7 “Why then,” they asked, “did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?” 8 Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. 9 I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.”
Ok. There is a lot of debate about the meaning of "sexual immorality" and "adultery" and you can go down the rabbit hole, but let's keep this simple for now.
First, Jesus couches his statement permitting divorce in two strong statements "what God has joined together, let no one separate" and divorce was permitted only "because your hearts were hard" -- having a hard heart is antithetical to the message or person of Jesus. Bondservants of Jesus have traded a heart of stone for a heart of flesh and are never permitted to divorce.
Second, if you believe Jesus is permitting divorce it's clearly only permitted for men. I know this is hard to accept-- the church has been so influenced by feminism that it's hard to believe God might give different rules for men and women. Good "conservative bible-believing christians" just skip right over the fact that Jesus is addressing men only. These are the same people who will decry when LGBT activists try to ignore gendered language and abolish unique gender roles. So when men violate their gender roles and have sex with men it's SIN SIN SIN, but when women violate their gender roles and divorce their husband the church turns a blind eye-- and more often than not blame it on the man for not being a good leader. Madness.
One of the key things about interpreting the bible is that you use the bible to interpret itself. You use other verses to help bring clarity to passages that are more ambiguous. Paul brings clarity:
Romans 7:2-3 For example, by law a married woman is bound to her husband as long as he is alive, but if her husband dies, she is released from the law that binds her to him. 3 So then, if she has sexual relations with another man while her husband is still alive, she is called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is released from that law and is not an adulteress if she marries another man.
1 Corinthians 7:10-11 To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband. 11 But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife.
Boom. You can't get much clearer than these statements, they need no explanation. A woman ultimately has no authority over a man-- not even sexually. This is really important to grasp. It's incredibly common for women to use sex as a way to control their husbands and keep him on a leash. If he doesn't bend to her demands she can withhold sex until he cheats and the church will wag their finger at the man for being deplorable scum. Try asking your elders about these passages and watch them squirm. It's amazing how the "truth" guys suddenly become the "well it's really about loving your wife and then you won't have that problem" guys when it comes to white knighting. Seriously try it. They will almost always refuse to even concede that what is written in black and white is true because most pastors ultimately seek the approval of women rather than God. Disgusting.
Given that the church and the courts will utterly destroy you on the whim of the woman you have to play defense. Women are children. They are ruled by their emotions rather than truth. It's the reason why they are also forbidden from ruling over men or teaching in the church. Truth is whatever they feel in the moment. All women-- even if they don't consciously think about it-- know the church and the courts will defend their actions. This is like leaving the cookie jar on the floor next to a two year old. When marriage gets hard many Christian women will intentionally withhold sex hoping that you cheat so that they can drop kick you and make themselves the victim. I see countless beta cucks in the church who roll over for their wives on everything because they know if they really pushed back on her demands she would destroy their family. So they live lives of quiet desperation, banished to their man cave, working some dumb corporate job to support her lifestyle, rather than really pursuing God's calling on their life. It's very easily to believe but we love each other this will never happen, but if you avoid dealing with it now you will deal with it later.
Here are some tips to head this off:
1) Don't get legally married. With children and common law you can't avoid all of the legal problems, but the marriage contract is a raw deal for men. Tell your fiance that you believe marriage is before God and not about "some government paper" -- she can call it whatever she wants, but legally speaking you need to protect yourself. A prenup is also another option but very often judges will throw it out. Don't be naive. Sadly most church guys are so damn thirsty for pussy they willingly enslave themselves to women. Of course she will emotionally manipulate you, "a prenup is not real love, this is forever babyyy" -- don't be the chump!! Don't think she doesn't know the game. It's about having power over you in the relationship. Turn it around. Yes baby, it's love, it's forever... so just sign the prenup and we'll never think about it again.
2) Make sure your woman agrees with your biblical view. Sit down with the woman you're dating and show her from the scriptures what you believe. See if she will agree that the bible never permits her to divorce. This is a key test to see if she really wants to follow you and the Lord or if she is just looking for a beta church cuck that will pay for her lifestyle. If she agrees then have fun with it.... "So what you're saying is that even if I go crazy and get an apartment across town and smash hoes all day you still wouldn't divorce me?! You would follow the Lord and wait for God to bring me to repentance?!?" If she won't agree then you're already boned. If she doesn't recognize God's authority then she sure as hell won't respect your authority once she has the guns pointed at you. Make no mistake, when Christian women divorce their husbands it's a VIOLENT act. If you don't play ball when she demands your money and children the police will absolutely shoot you and the church will smile and bring her a casserole to comfort her suffering. Putting a stake in the ground here is a great way to test if she really respects you or not and it lays the ground work for biblical dread game. It's also very important to repeat this to other men and allow her to overhear you talk about it. If she tries to shush you up then again she doesn't really respect you. It's not one conversation, it's the foundation for Godly marriage and she needs to hear it repeated over and over or she will just blow it off later as a random conversation you had that one time but of course you couldn't actually be really serious about that. I know all this might seem a little cold, but ultimately it will create more attraction when she realizes you are faithful to her because you choose to be with her and not because she has your nuts in a vice grip.
3) Don't ever marry a divorced woman or single mom. Just don't. She is probably headed to hell and will drag you with her. If a woman divorces and remarries she is an adulterer. Period. God forgives people who repent. When a church girl divorces her husband and remarries it's simply not a legitimate divorce or marriage. She is bound to her husband as long as he lives. She is just an unrepentant adulterer and no different than an unrepentant homosexual (the old testament law offered the same penalty for both-- death).
When you really start researching this stuff and going back to God's Word rather than accepting religious cuckery you will realize other shocking things, like polygamy isn't a sin (see links below, almost all the biblical heroes had multiple wives). The Red Pill is very hard to swallow because you will have to accept that there is a lot of things you have been lied to about, but the truth ultimately brings freedom so press on brothers. I straight up tell women I'm a polygamist because it's biblically true even though I have no desire for multiple wives. It's biblical dread game and it's a great test of your TRUE sexual market value. Try it you might be surprised how women respond positively when you boldly stand for the word of God against the culture. There are LOTS of Christian women who sleep with married men and don't mind sharing a man with high SMV, they just won't admit it. If you have the SMV and frame polygamy is absolutely viable. You can make it clear you don't want a second wife but that you reserve that right before God. If she starts withholding sex or letting herself go just grab a coffee date with a female friend and watch her little hamster wheel spin.
