I was shocked that I found my mate in someone only a year older than I am. I had tried to go for older, and honestly it makes no difference once you factor in individual personalities. I had dated men 15-20 years older who were just extremely immature with relationships and very needy and "clingy." I'm glad I snagged my husband young, because he wasn't established in his career and I got to watch him come into his own and support him the whole way there. Now I've been an integral part of his adult life from the beginning and it'll be harder for him to replace me. Mwahahaha! ;-P

I'm 6 months younger, grew up near each other & together 30 years. Get your man when he's young and exciting! I still think of my husband as the man I met at 22.

my husband is 3 years younger than me, met at age 22 and 19, married 5 years. I personally liked that he was younger, but also very mature for his age compared to guys my age anyway

I'm 22 and my boyfriend is almost 35. Most people can't understand how we have anything in common, but we are highly compatible. I love the security and guidance that he is able to provide me, since he has already been through the stages of life that I'm going through. I hardly think about his age anymore, though--as they say, age is just a number!

Its irrelevant. Im 19 and my boyfriend is 28. Age really is just a number. Some like the security of an older man and some prefer the excitement of younger ones. Whatever makes you happy is the important thing.

That said, I vote go for the much older one ;D

I don't think it matters :) I have dated someone a year younger than me, and men 7-12 years older than me. My current partner is my age and I think he's wonderful. I enjoy us being the same age because we are going through similar things, like leaving uni and starting careers/adulthood together.

My SO is 26 (almost 27), and I'm 19. Age is pretty much irrelevant since it depends on the individuals involved.

I don't know that there's a best age difference. My husband and I are 22 years apart and so far neither of us have any complaints. Though we are very freshly married. I have had to square with the fact that our window to have kids is limited to the next ten years (if that long) and that I will likely be widowed early. Still, I wouldn't trade him for anybody.
