I use bare minerals loose powder foundation. Its light enough, yet buildable. So you can use this for your daily makeup or for a night out or nice event. AND it has SPF 15. ❤️

it removes shine, and helps with pigment differences in your skin. It covers slight blemishes/scars. If you want a bit more coverage without the weight, you can get a concealer and put that on before your powder.

It runs you about 30-ish dollars. they encourage you to purchase a “special” brush with it, but I just use my favorite powder brush.

I also love MICA beauty loose powder foundation. Most shades have a bit of “shimmer” in them so they give you a beautiful glow. This one is also buildable and can be used daily.

This one is more affordable currently (its on sale) at $25.

I tend to stay away from pressed powder as i feel the application process pulls at my skin. and the sponge can hold on to bacteria, brushes are easier to clean (in my humble opinion)

Then I use my loose powder foundation

I’m obsessed with the Too Faced Born This Way complexion powder. I put on a little lightweight glossier concealer first, and the combination is definitely the most flattering light coverage I’ve found.

Edit: Forgot to include my routine! After washing, I use Neurogena Hydro Boost City Shield and Neutrogena oil free moisture with sunscreen under my makeup.

Then glossier stretch concealer, glossier cloud paint blush, glossier boy brow, a light eyeshadow (I’m still searching for the perfect eye color), mascara, and then the two faced concealer patted over everything except my cheeks.

Please consider using COSDNA to research ingredients in your cosmetics. I guarantee you there is a specific ingredient breaking you out, and this will even continue with powder foundation. The only way to stop the breakouts is to find a good non-comedogenic foundation, which can be powder or liquid. My personal favorite is the Make Up For Ever HD Foundation. Good luck on your make up journey!

I have oily, acne prone skin and use haven’t used liquid foundation in 10 years.

For light coverage, I mix a couple Nyx total control drops into my sunscreen. It helps even out my skin tone without being as heavy as liquid foundation.

For fuller coverage, tarte’s claystick foundation doesn’t seem to bother my skin. I only apply it to areas where I need pigment correction- my undereyes and around my nostrils. I do want to note that I don’t naturally break out in these areas, though, so I don’t know if this product would aggravate my acne if I applied it to my cheeks or forehead. Then I blend the claystick in and apply Laura Gellar’s baked powder foundation to the rest of my face. I may also use elf’s halo glow setting powder if I anticipate having my photo taken or being extra sweaty/oily.

I use liquid foundation now as I've found that my skin has become drier as I got older, but I used to use Make Up Forever Duo Mat powder foundation. It was easy to apply and blended nicely.

I have sensitive skin, so I use makeup very sparingly (only when I go out in public). I used to use liquid foundation, but I realized recently that I don’t really need it, so now I only wear powder. I only started using liquid foundation because I thought I should due to my age, not because I needed to hide spots or wrinkles or anything. I’m 33, but I’ve always been extremely adamant about protecting my skin from the sun - especially my face. I never use any kind of soap or cleanser on my face (except for micellar water to remove makeup); I only rinse it with warm water once after waking and once before bed. I also drink about a gallon of water per day, so I’m very well-hydrated, and it shows. I don’t have any wrinkles yet, and I’ve been mistaken for an 18-year-old and 21-year-old several times. I’m not saying this to brag, but just to demonstrate the importance of staying out of the sun and drinking water!

So if it’s sunny and/or I’m leaving the house that day, I’ll put on my facial sunscreen first. I use Elta MD UV Daily Broad-Spectrum facial sunscreen, which is SPF 40, but doesn’t feel like it at all. It’s extremely lightweight, and it alone acts as the perfect moisturizer for me. Once that dries, I put on my face powder. I used to use Cover Girl’s matte powder, but then I found out about the potential harmfulness of talcum powder (aka talc) and sought out a talc-free powder. I now use Pacifica Beauty Cherry Powder Neutralizing Mattifier and it is absolutely AMAZING! The very first time I used it made me realize that my old powder was complete crap. A thin layer of the Pacifica powder covers my tiny scars, evens out my skin better than liquid foundation ever did, and lasts all day long. I can’t recommend this product enough!

And that’s it! Sunscreen and face powder is my entire routine, unless I also decide to wear eye makeup and/or lipstick that day.

I use powder foundation, and my routine is as follows:

Wash, moisturize and prime. I use a mattifying primer because I have very oily skin.
Eyebrows. I use ABH Dipbrow and NYX Eyebrow pencil.
Concealer my under-eye and “highlight” my chin and nose with MAC Prolongwear concealer.
I set the edges of the concealer and powder my entire face with MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation.
Bake my “highlight” areas with Fenty loose powder.
Contour with a powder.
Set my face with a setting spray from Urban Decay. Set my eyebrows with a brow gel.

Depending on the day/season/occasion, I might add blush or powder highlight for that glow.

I’ve used Loreal’s True Match compact powder for about a decade! With a brush it’s super buildable and I use the sponge attached for spot coverage (most concealers look either too oily or too cakey on me). It’s crazy affordable and keeps my oily skin matte, even with my SPF 50 sunscreen, moisturizer, and serums underneath the powder.

I’ve tried switching to more expensive formulas like Bare Minerals or Armani, but none of them suit my skin as well as the Loreal True Match! My wallet isn’t complaining :P

Edit: full morning makeup routine:

Wash face with Boscia oil cleanser followed by CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser
Apply Clinique Moisturizing Gel (the oil-free one)
Apply Niacinamide serum from The Ordinary
Wait for face to dry. Then apply Elta Md UV Shield Sunscreen to face and neck
Wait for face to dry. Then apply Loreal True Match with fluffy brush.
Brows with Daiso brow pencil
Curl lashes and apply mascara with Lancome Grandiose
Line my upper waterline with waterproof liquid eyeliner
Colorpop cream blush (pre-covid when people could actually see the bottom half of my face :/ )
Jack Black lip balm with SPF

Just want to give you some advice that might be great for you! I have 2 cousins who have really bad acne and they used to cake their face with makeup 'america style' and well I'm from Asia so we focus more on healthy skin for base. I told them to stop putting so much and let your face breathe! Focus on your skin care routine and put on just a bit of CC cream or concealer. Ever since I've told them that theyve stop putting so much and they said they'd never go back because their skin has gotten so much better!
