Wear boots instead of just heels for the ankle support, and maybe just go with it and get some 'French Maid' costumes for special occasions?

It's really nice that you're doing things that he likes but are either of you aware of the problems this might cause you? He might change his mind if he is made aware of the potential health hazards you would be facing just from wearing high heeled shoes. I'm not saying you shouldn't wear them ever, I just thought I would inform you of the dangers facing you.

Make sure you buy high quality heels, preferably leather, so that they mold to your feet and are as comfortable as possible.

Do plenty of foot and ankle stretches when you are done wearing them. Heels put your feet in a very unnatural position and you can shorten your Achilles' tendon, and it can be very painful. You can also get bunions, ingrown toenails, etc which just make your feet ugly... Could he help you get regular pedicures?

From a medical standpoint, I would try to limit wearing them to a couple hours a day or only a couple days a week for long stretches instead of every day. That way you will be able to keep your feet healthy and hopefully wear them for the next 20 years instead of only a few. Orthopedic shoes are UGLY!

Ouch. I'm sorry to hear that. I do understand how high heels are a turn on because of the whole classic housewife thing, but they really aren't good for your feet. Not sure what you should do. Probably best to just tell him how you feel and ask him how important it is to him.

Maybe you could do the whole barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen thing for him haha.

I don't agree with the majority of this post (or sub, I came here out of curiosity) but since you're going to do what you choose to do (and hoorah for that!) then I will give you two words of advice:

Platform. Booties.

Look for a pair that have the stiletto toward the middle of the bottom of the heel, directly under your ankle while you're standing. If the back of the stiletto aligns with the back of the shoe, do not buy that pair of shoes, ever. And make sure they have the part that goes over the top of your foot.

They're sexy, and you can legitimately wear them all day without your feet hurting, because you don't have to do as much "work" to keep standing in them. The upper keeps your foot from having to do the "crunch" that you have to do to keep a pump on, and the midline position of the heel ensures you're better aligned with your joints and your ankles don't have to engage as often to keep you balanced. The platform takes the internal height of the heel down an inch or two (and how much easier are 2-inch heels to wear than 3-inch heels?) without sacrificing the "high-heeled" look.

High heels are easier to wear the more you wear them. If you're going to be doing housework in them, invest in a good insole or whatever those are called and try a pair with a bit of a thicker heel to help you balance.

It's such a nice thing to do for him and such a small issue assuming you don't have some kind of physical disability, why complain?

As someone who's worked 8hrs a day standing in heels I promise you there is a cute pair of pumps out there SOMEWHERE that will actually be semi-comfortable to wear. If it's just a little something to turn him on, why not? I agree with dischordiasnightmare, you can even one up the bar once in awhile by going all out pinup housewife ;)

I wear heels quite often. Mr. Strom is a fan of them. Bonus: dressing up and putting on a little music makes housework kinda fun. Looking nice makes your whole day brighter. :)

Don't be surprised if you find out your bf has foot fetish. He might even decide that you need a pedicure allowance! :D

I'm older, so I can't wear random high heels like I used to. They really have to have a good supporting arch to not hobble me for weeks on end. I like some of the higher heeled Born sandals and maybe some Nine West.

Are wedges okay with him? Or do the shoes need to be stilettos? He might just like the way your leg and butt muscles look when wearing heels because heels really do make those look great.

I would go with wearing heels when he's around and not when he's not.
