How do women help men grow?

We remove obstacles, reinforce positivity, and ask for leadership.

My husband wants to work out more. He has asked for my help reaching his fitness goals.

Telling him directly to work out does not work. He finds it annoying and a bit insulting. So, I started listening very closely to what he said to try to figure out how to motivate him.

Remove Obstacles:

He says exercise is most effective combined with a protein-filled diet. I have taken steps to improve the quality of his meals, learn healthy smoothie recipes he'll drink, and make protein powder snacks.

Reinforce Positivity:

I am very complimentary of his post work out "pumped" physique. I encourage him to talk about his workout regimes, research, gains, etc. I give him my full attention.

Ask for Leadership:

I've requested him to help me with my weight lifting. He walks me through a whole routine and teaches me form. This is very exciting for him and often results in him exercising during my down time.

I do notice an improvement in his mood and motivation when I'm being a good support. If I helped regularly, I think he'd exponentially excel.

Positive reinforcement. Women these days are so negative. Never speak your doubts into a partner. It's honestly transformative when you become a wife who inspires rather than criticizes. And really we as humans should be that way with everyone. If you see a friend struggling with something, tell them they're the opposite. Your friend is being weak and whiny about something, tell them they're strong and you know they'll succeed. They're being stupid and naive about something, tell them they're too smart and wise for such nonsense. Bonus points if you can add a personal example of how they are smart and wise, even if it's a bit of a stretch. There's a lot of prophecizing involved, which feels unnatural to my very literal and honest brain, but it works. You speak about the positive outcome as if it's already happened, and the person feels inspired to live up to it.

And by the way, my husband does the same shit to me, and I appreciate it. He likes it when I make home cooked meals, so whenever I do he's super grateful and even brags to his friends about my cooking. I'm not a very skilled cook lol. But hey, if I get treated really nicely for cooking, I'm much more likely to try to get better. Cooking bores the hell out of me, but seeing his face light up and being lavished in praise ain't so bad.

I’m a fan of Laura Doyle’s technique called the Spouse Fulfilling Prophecy. Never criticize or point out flaws, that’s a negative SFP. For a positive SFP you tell him he’s already the man he wants to be, and his masculine nature leans into becoming that man.

Mine told me he wanted to stop drinking coffee, which was a huge thing for him bc he couldn’t function in the morning without it and would be extremely grumpy until he had his fix. I never once commented about his coffee habits. But I would say “You’re so healthy,” or “I love how you’re so motivated to improve you’re health.” After months of talking about it one day when the coffee ran out he just didn’t buy more and quit cold turkey. So proud of him!

Many women in her program have even helped men with drinking problems with this technique. Instead of saying “you’re an alcoholic and you need help!” (negative SFP that makes him just want to drink more bc that’s what ppl already think of him) the woman would say “I’m so glad you’re a moderate drinker.” Even if it felt like a bit of a lie at first, when the woman kept consistent with this SFP her husband eventually turned down drinks at dinner with the line “I’m a moderate drinker” and alcohol stopped being a problem in their relationship.

He needs a group of guys that inspire him to “man up” and take charge. Most guys don’t learn unless they’re thrown to the wolves.

Have him watch some redpill podcasts like the rational male or fresh and fit.

As a young male 19 i would say don't be complain alot idk just smile and be happy around the male I think for am empath like me the best way to help me grow to just be positive and supportive

Support him emotionally. Be his healing power, his soft spot, his comfort when he fights the world every day and works.

Small gestures to Support his decisions may sound not very effective but we men always remember appreciations we get,, because we don't get them at all.

Trust him, believe in him and when he feels all lost and alone and sad, make him remember how strong he is !!! Sometimes we men need Support and motivation from our women. It makes us protect you even more!

Make him feel special. Tell him how you chose him over everyone and how much he means to you.
