Play it cool and tell the truth. "Looks like you got a unintended bonus there!" and explain what happened.

It'll put your heart and mind at ease because you explained yourself and help potentially protect your rep with him (if he thought they might be for someone else) and if he didn't, you two may get a good laugh out of it.

Don't overdo it. Protest too much and it may come across like over the top efforts to convince him and that'll make him wonder why you're acting like that and if you have something to hide.

The cover up can be worse than the "crime."

Be lighthearted about it if you can with a hint of seriousness. And then let it go. He believes you or he doesn't.

He may be able to relate once you explain to him. I'm not entirely sure I understand how it happened in your situation, but I have cropped photos, & sent them using Telegram, just to have it send the uncropped photo. I don't know why it does that, but that's immediately what came to mind as I read your post. If he's experienced it too, he'll likely understand.

It's unlikely that a single guy would be offended receiving a nude photo of someone (of age). There's not much threat involved for him. I think your biggest concern is that he understands what your intent was, and wasn't.. and perhaps you could request that he not share it with anyone else.

If he assumed it was a proposition, he might be anxious about confronting you again, or disappointed when he finds out it wasn't. I wonder if a text to give a brief description of all this before you meet him next would be a good move.. Just to alleviate any anxiety/disappointment when you next see each other.

Well, for one, don't take naked selfies and check pictures before you send.

I'd say delete the pics and if he brings it up, just say that you were just messing around and taking selfies and were going to delete them /never send.

I feel like, why on earth did you screenshot a selfie ? This makes no sense

I took the photos for two reasons, first was to boost my self esteem because it makes me feel better about the way I look, it was the first time I took them and quite liked how they came out! The second reason was because my best friend sends naked pics to her men and she showed me some pics, and literally out of curiosity I wanted to see if I could get that angle because it didn't seem like it was possible! (I did manage to get the same angles and my face is not in them). I took a screenshot of the selfie because I wanted to edit it, I am not very picture/phone savvy!

Omg this is so embarrassing!!! I would say don't draw attention to it. If he does bring it up, explain what happened then drop it.

This reminds me of the time my stepdaughter decided to take a few nudes of herself and put them in a folder on her computer when she was around 18-19.

Well, her screensaver was an automatic slideshow randomly displaying anything in the entire pictures folder. Her Mom was in her room chatting when one of the nudes flashed onto the screen, which was not responsive to hasty efforts to hide it.

Many lessons learned that day. I'd recommend against nude photos of yourself for simple security.
