Yeah, so basically you can have “long-distance” or you can have a “relationship.” There’s no guarantee he won’t cheat, but he doesn’t have any guarantee that you won’t cheat either.

Assuming you decided to go forward with the long distance relationship how much time would you be able to spend together and on what intervals? LDRs tend to work better for established couples where there is a defined period separation that isn’t excessive. For you it’s going to be two years, plus you might still be in an LDR, and in fact, probably will be, depending on where you match for your residency. is there any chance that his work situation will become more flexible during this timeframe?

I think you're in a tricky spot when it comes to dating. There's no guarantee you'll be able to move closer to him for residency, and there's also no guarantee you'll be able to stay where you are post med school if you choose to date local.

Since you really like this guy, I personally would pursue it until there was a reason not to that's specific to him and not your situation.

Full text: I recently started a LDR with a man for two months. He is an amazing provider and treats me very well. He also would like to get married soon.

However, the problem is that I am currently in medical school, and have two years left before I can move to another state for residency. He is unable to move to my state due to work. My previous long term relationship is also long distance and he cheated on me after 5 years so I am hesitated to started another LDR.

Should I continue the relationship or wait until I am done with medical school and pick it up then?
