I’m not sure how the affair was addressed but with that occurrence, the relationship should of ended permanently. And you can’t just have the other cheat back to even out the score. I hate to say it in this way but being together for that long and only having about 10 years of a good relationship is being on a sinking ship while in denial of the ship sinking. A woman in a relationship either helps the man as he leads, or go strays into a different path away from the man. He may be better off getting into a lifestyle of enjoying the single retired life with hobbies and social clubs as he already had a child/children.

Also the really harsh reality is that cheaters of either sex almost never change (unless they became so unattractive that they no longer can cheat).
