First observation: The idea of adaptability as a part of femininity reminds me of The Five Faces of the Perfect Wife, which I apply in my relationship even though I'm not married or a mother.

It's a good skill to be able to adapt to the situations we're in with our men and what is required at any given time, without letting the roles bleed over into each other (i.e. by saying the wrong thing at the wrong time). I would be mortified if his family or friends had even an idea of what goes on in the bedroom when I'm fulfilling my role as the Whore.

Second observation: Feminine adaptability sort of contradicts mainstream feminism these days. We're told it's empowering for women to do what we want when we want to do it, regardless of what his needs are. In fact, if we consider those needs as a factor in our behavior, it's considered degrading to us. I see a rise in female narcissism everywhere these days, and a persistent refusal to adapt to our men's needs at different times is a perfect example.

Of course, men should be able to adapt to our needs at certain times as well, as both our bodies and emotions are more changeable in nature than theirs. They are expected to protect us and provide a safe place for us, as situations arise. And if they give us commitment or make a promise to us, we expect them to modify their behavior in a way that reflects this ("a man is only as good as his word").

I am earth. Sometimes I can be shifted by the wind and other times I turn to rock and can’t be budged. I can be messy, but I have the capability to produce some amazing things in the process. I can suffer if I don’t receive the sustenance I need and then nothing grows in me. But with rain and sun and time I can bounce back and continue to grow the seeds that are planted in me.

I have the capability to do a great number of things with my hands such as restoring furniture, gardening, repairing, canning and cooking food, sewing, as well as visual art pieces. I am the queen of recycle, reuse and waste not. I am grounded in the sense that I have deep roots that tie me to my home, but I also need change and new experiences to thrive. I need sun and water in the sense that I need attention from other people and loneliness is detrimental to my wellbeing. I have found that although I tend to jump around from task to task in normal times, I can hold together very well in times of emergency or duress. I find great joy in creating things of beauty. I find great joy in my husband and the life we grow together, as we watch our own children grow their families. I find it easy to forgive and I soften easily, but I can also be rock hard stubborn about things that can bother me enough to lay awake at night. As soil grows richer in a proper garden, I feel I get wiser as I age.

Thanks so much for this post. It inspired me to take the time and think about how I would describe myself and in the process of doing so, I suddenly felt so much better about my life.

I like this. My ex called me a chameleon as an insult, but I never felt it as an insult. TBH I don't consider myself to be a redpilled woman at all because I will never pigeonhole myself.

I'm guessing I'm pretty far left of most of the women in this sub. But there's a lot of truth here that people who have drawn hard lines won't acknowledge.

So I lurk here and relate and lurk at very different subs and also relate. Because there's a lot of truth that isn't black or white, and that's okay. I agree, being able to exist on different spaces can only be a good thing for us

Perhaps from the perspective of a society focused on individualism and capitalism this adaptability seems a less desirable trait.

Please explain how adaptability is not desirable to:

favoring freedom of action for individuals over collective or state control

or

the free and voluntary exchange of goods and services
