I have been blessed all my life. Loving supportive family, did well at school and university and then got a very good job in “the City”. I thought I had the perfect life. But there was an underlying itch that something was not quite right - for me at least. I was definitively confused. To most looking at me I had everything - except a long term relationship. Was potentially the poster girl for an independent successful woman. But ohh in my heart it wasn’t great. I was laid off, on very generous terms, during covid and it gave me an opportunity to re-evaluate my life and I suddenly realised I didn’t want to go back to the rat race. I was fortunate enough to live in a rural village with a lot of young families and I made friends with a lot of women my age who were living a life I had actively shunned, but now realised was actually the one I wanted to live. So I now work at a small nursery school but am looking for “the one”. Yesterday I stumbled on this forum following a link from a newspaper article. Suddenly, I find that I am not the odd one out there are others like me, and that it is not weird and strange to want to be the LYNCH pin of a family. I’m older, now 28, but hopefully not hit my wall. Thank you for helping to open my eyes. I look forward to learning much more as I go along.
