Hi there! My bf (31) and I (27) have been dating for just over 4 months, however we’ve known each other for longer. Recently I mentioned that I found out my Easter is going to be a bigger family affair, and he said his family doesn’t do too much, so I said he was welcome to join me at mine.

From there, he made a comment about us having to figure out how we’re going to handle/split holidays together in the future - i.e., one year here, one year there. We couldn’t talk about it too much (we were at the dog park) but I thought that was an encouraging sign!

My question is, how did you and your partner decide how to handle things like that? Did it happen organically on a case by case basis, or did you have to sit down and figure it out? For those couples where both partners’ families aren’t in the same city, how did you navigate the travel aspect as well?
