Hi everyone,
I'm new to RPW but I'm noticing a lot of the advice on here rings true for me.
I have a dilemma. I'm in my late 20s, started a new career, looking to make as much as I can in the event I need to fully support myself (as I have been for the last few years). My career shift seems to require more education, at least if I want to maximize my potential. This might put me in some debt, although I could probably save up for most of my tuition in the year leading up to the program.
The problem I'm facing is I'd be 30 when the program ends. I'd probably have minimal debt, but I'd have some. It would require me moving to a different city most likely. Having said that, I'd be way better off long-term in terms of career potential. I could make 6 figures with this career shift.
Now, I'd also be moving to a city that's constantly mentioned as being good for single women (lots of high earning men in this particular city, particularly tech-driven, way fewer women). So a part of me thinks it may not be such a bad idea if I do happen to move there as a single woman... program starts next fall.
On the flipside, I'm in a new relationship. But I've had doubts about it from early days. My SO makes average money (less than I do), his earning potential is around 85k if he doesnt open up his own business. It's not that bad, but if I pursue this career, I could be making 100+ eventually.
The issue with us is I have other doubts. We arent religiously compatible although we both often agree not to talk about it. I always have a small nagging feeling he has the potential to cheat, though hes usually quite upfront with me and has told me his past (including his indiscretion). We want the same life in the future and we have one side of my heritage in common, so we have some commonalities. But I'm not convinced he could support us if I have a kid. I would still work part time though while raising my child, and go back to work after a year or two. I can't imagine going back to work sooner than that.
I'm at a crossroads... I cant decide which to go with. I'm not totally "in" my current relationship. But theres no guarantee I'll get into the program either. I think I should still apply, though?
Final hang-up is my SO is a year and a half younger than me. Not a big deal, right? It only worries me in regards to children, though honestly I see myself having only 1-2 max. I'm aware that I want my first child before 35 though. In other terms, SO looks older than I do but we all know that fertility is age-based and not looks-based.
Thoughts?

Much of what I've seen here has been rather negative, so I refrain from posting things other than fact based studies. I was considering writing a post regarding Taoism and understanding Masculine and Feminine polarity but I figured it wouldn't be very well received due to the stigma associated with men posting here and MGTOW.
Much nuance is being lost I think due to oversimplification of RP concepts. (For instance, the whole "Alpha" vs. "Beta" dichotomy is not at all representative of actual male social hierarchy. You can read the fuller version here; http://alphagameplan.blogspot.com/2011/03/socio-sexual-hierarchy.html )

Hey, if they want to spend 9 years in a cave staring at a wall like Bodhidharma, I fully support them!
