I am together with my bf for 8 months and his birthday is on Valentines day sooooo yeah it will be a special day for us 😂 but i dont know what we will do or what i should do… :) hmmm

I understand your instinct to take the initiative, in part, to make it more likely that you two will spend a really romantic time together, as you envision it. However, unless you being in charge in such matters is something he has previously expressed a desire for, I advise against it.

My suggestion is to let him know 2 or 3 things you would be happy with and allow him to chose (and book / organize), so that he is ultimately the one who provides you with the gift / experience you wish and you can gracefully receive and be thankful, which will, in turn, make him super happy to be appreciated.

Since the 14th will be on a Monday, perhaps celebrating it the previous weekend would not be too much of a compromise. This opens up the possibilities, anything from a picnic to a day trip somewhere or a couples massage at a spa, or going swimming somewhere..

It all depends on the budget and location but I would suggest a relaxing activity of some sort, to create a lasting memory, incorporating something you know he also enjoys (for example, if going to a show you would thoroughly enjoy, to afterwards eat at his favorite restaurant).

I'd casually remind my SO of an upcoming important day. Something like "Oh man, the mall's going to be packed this weekend."
