I’m a SAHM and am getting so tired of this question and the misconception that being a stay at home mother or homemaker is easy or lazy. I thought I’d write down my typical day and would love to hear how the rest of you manage!

0600- up, shower, get dressed and put on makeup 0630- family are up! Sort out breakfast for people and puppies-put on a load of washing, down a coffee-usually cold by the time I get to it! 0715-husband leaves for work 0715-0830- clean up after breakfast then play time with the kiddos 0830- 0930 baby’s nap time so cuddle and sing him to sleep then up and clean the house 0930-1030 change baby then head out for our walk with the dogs 1030-1130 either run errands or finish cleaning (playing and singing concurrently!) 1130- kids lunch 1200-1330 gym (thankfully mine has a crèche) 1400-nap time so sing and cuddles again do my language study while naps are happening 1500-play, singing, reading time 1700-kids dinner 1730-kids bath 1800-husband home to play with kids before bed 1830-kids bedtime so more singing, cuddling, stories! 1900-cook dinner and chat to husband while he finishes work 2000-dinner and catch up with husband then clean kitchen, make everyone’s lunch for tomorrow 2200-we go to bed

There’s definitely no time for TV and painting my nails! I do make an effort to dress nicely and do my hair and nails though. My husband is also a very hard worker but always leaves the office on time to see the children before they go to sleep even though it means doing some work from home most nights. He also goes to the gym or a run at lunch.
