TL; DR: Attractive 30-something blonde woman tells me she's dating me (an Indian immigrant) because White men won't commit to her!

I am a recent foreign worker in the States from India. I have spent few years in the States and have been single for quite some time. So, I decided to register on OkCupid. I have had decent success with it. I receive replies from women across the racial spectrum.

Anyway, one day I received a message from seemingly good looking 31 year old blonde. Now, I had never dated a blonde before, so I was tempted. We followed up with messages, then there was a big gap, received a message a month later excusing her absence because of her moving to a new place, etc (She probably had other prospects). She said she would like to meet me on a coffee date ("I usually like to meet guys on short dates first"). So, we have a date.

Now, this women is a beautiful specimen. Decent height, attractive face, curvy and charming. We instantly get along pretty well, share few laughs and during the coffee she asks if I was hungry and would like to grab some food (she basically extended the date). In the middle of our conversation, I jokingly asked what she thought about dating someone with a darker skin tone and a thick, unfashionable Indian accent. It was a sarcastic comment intended to elicit a laugh from her. She laughed and replied - "Oh, you know, white men won't commit" (cutely pouting her lips). Bam! I wasn't fully unplugged then, but even then it sent shudders through my spine!

Later on she told me she liked Indian men because she had travelled to India and was affiliated with a guru and his yoga ashram and was a disciple of his. Said, the guru had helped her to regain her feet after her past years had been a mess.

This should serve as a good warning to all the "successful, hard-working, rich" immigrants here. Often we are cast in a stereotype (of being good guys) and ultimately become the settling choices for older women past their walls.

Needless to say, we never went on a second date.
