This post is part of a series covering our first summer group-read book, BRONZE AGE MINDSET. For the next month, I'll be reading Bronze Age Mindset, and dissecting what I find interesting. Feel free to make your own posts, if anything I missed strikes you as interesting! For this post, we'll be looking at Part Two and talking about cities are degenerate cesspools for women.
"The city...is humanity reduced to a steaming ratpile." (73)
The most horrifying portion of Scott Alexander's plea to not be doxxed by The New York Times is what he almost certainly thought was an innocuous reveal: that he shares an apartment with ten other roomates. Ten other roomates, as a Doctor of Psychiatry! Can you imagine? Poor Scott didn't think this was anything strange, or out of place, because this sort of arrangement is very common for those who live in high profile cities- even for elite professionals.
Through Hollywood propaganda, city living has become something venerated. Age old is the trope of the small town kid leaving their pathetic, little anti-intellectual town for the potential glory and like-minded lot of the big city, where they will more likely work 60-hours per week, just scraping by with enough for rent and food, and share a bug's life in an over-crowded tin can. How very glamorous!
There are those who will tell you: not me, no. They think they will be Don Draper, drinking whiskey sours in endless after-hour meetings, screwing their big titted, redhead secretary. This is like when kids will tell me they don't need to think ahead, or plan for the future, because they're gonna be a YouTube streamer because Jake Paul and PewDiePie. Let's shoot some hoops, cause maybe you gonna be Michael Jordon.
These are the odds of being successful in a city... and now you exist to the exception of all else beautiful. Of nature and space. Of quiet and solitude. Space to live and breath with freedom.
Funny line in The Office is when dickhead Ryan tells a friend on the phone that Pam is an "eight in Scranton but a six in New York"- it's cute because she's sitting right there. Supposed to be funny and degrading, but like everything on television, the opposite is true! Yes, there are more beautiful women than Pam in NYC- she stands out less and is a bigger fish in Scranton... but, I ask you, does it matter?
Taken to its logical end, Ryan's explanation would imply that being a man in a big city makes it easier to get laid. There are so many beautiful women all around, that Pam hardly even stands out! There must be enough to go around! As you probably know, due to the 80/20 principal, the rare successful man in the city is cleaning up big time with major harems and a rotating schedule that would even make Rollo blush. Women aren't invisible in big cities- men are.
My old friend Christine- who once shouted at me that all vaginas are the same size- would needle me about never moving to the city. I never felt drawn to the crowding and filth that BAP is critical of! I am someone who has always liked space, and, in my heart I have a fondness for suburbia. Quiet enough for a summer night of solitude walking the streets- but close enough to a grocery store if I'm ever in the need of ripe, fresh tropical fruit at 2am.
Christine couldn't wait to move out to the city- and whether she was conscious of it or not- because she knew that only in the city could she have access to the true god-tier alpha males.
Understand this: women most desire to provide themselves the highest degree of sexual selection, and preferably with the highest quality of mate; even if only for a night, even if only for twenty minutes.
Living in a city is a disadvantage for the vast majority of men- perhaps even 90%- where you will slave at a job and live in a crowded apartment.
Perhaps some will like this, the competition and the grind, but understand the odds and know the truth before deciding!

It seems that instead of opening up your horizons, you are closing them, and you seem to have found an affinity for this book (and other elements of pop culture) that fit your narrative.
Your revulsion at city life and affinity for suburbia is telling. What is a "cesspool" but a pool that has ceased to flow - like a swamp. What volatile, uncertain, and avante-garde things can happen in suburbia? A deer accident? Neighbor Jones might get a drone? I'm reaching here ... maybe somebody gets pregnant.
What kind of volatile things can happen in the city? A shooting, a homeless revolution, and every concert that has ever happened - a hotspot for the new and exciting.
Choosing the suburbs is the equivalent of shutting yourself in the basement for whatever rationalization you've given yourself. We are here to push our limits, and to grow.
Put another way, all my pussy friends want to live in a cheap place 30 minutes from downtown. All my interesting friends live within a 5 minute walk of it. Money is one thing - but living your life to your full experience - cultivating uncomfortable situations - growing as a human... or stagnating in the real cesspool, and rationalizing it as "an affinity for solitude."
Wishing for the flood is elementary thinking, shaping the culture is the mature outlook. If you haven't been uncomfortable lately, you haven't been growing.

I will add that the intent of TRP is to become the top 10%, not to merely understand why they have all the success - to perform extra reps in approaches, skillsets, and gain a next-level understanding of the world for a next-level experience of the world.
Your post is groveling. You've given up. I don't mean this as a personal attack, but you should not be giving advice on here.
