About the short hair, I am not entirely convinced that is related to having a slut phase.

As far as break up goes, I have heard from 2 different women that didn' t know each other that once they break up from a serious relationship they fuck a lot of guys (both used this exact expression, a lot of guys) immediately after to forget their ex. The bad break up thing is spot on. Other signs may include: a period of drug or alcohol abuse, a period when she is just failing at life (failing out of school, losing her job, etc), shitty relationships with family members, being part of some party scene, as well as taking an intense interest in feminist ideology.

The slut phase is the consequence of a mental breakdown. It's sad really.

There may be a correlation, but I only have my limited experiences to look back on. What I believe strengths this correlation is when the girl has any history of mental disorders, or if you can pick up on any undisclosed mental health issues.

A girl I was seeing once sexually had very short hair. Learning more about her issues and sexual history I can see where this may be more of a effect of her issues had on her and that manifests itself in a way that shows that she values herself less.

Short hair alone doesn't constitute a slut phase. I know plenty of cute East Asian girls who have short hair simply because they look good in them. Instead, I look out for other traits. Is there a sudden rise on their alcohol consumption? Have they suddenly become intimate with you after a recent break up? Look out for the more subtle things. Their hair length can only speak so much.
