Summary
Here are a list of things you can do today to improve your life, become more alpha, and move towards the top 10%/1% (depending on where you're starting). I will also include the starting steps of application for each, as it is normally assumed you know that every time this information is shared by an author; I will assume you do not know shit.

Body
ONE, Holding frame:
Armed robbers making their way into a bank. They fire at the ceiling. Flight or fight kicks in for everyone in the bank. Panic ensues, and emotions take over, and everyone goes into freak out mode.
Pause... someone trained to deal with these types of situations will begin to breathe deeply. The trained man will analyze the situation. First, the man will examine how many men there are, the weapons the men have, their stature, their current metal state (intoxicated, etc), and many more details. Then, the man will search for exits. Then, the man will search for areas to hide, then the man will search for weapons to defend himself, and all in that order.
More importantly, the man will remain calm and thinking logically, remaining in control of his breathe. Once these things have been evaluated, the man will make a decision. Even if the urge to act emotional becomes apparent, the man fights it off and remains logical through and through.
Obviously, this example has been exaggerated, but this absolutely is frame. It is a calm, logically way of thinking. The emotions of those around you have not swept you up.
How can you practice?
You can start practicing today. When someone at work, or at a social gathering says something you feel push one of your buttons, purposefully reject any urge to say anything. I am suggesting you don't even amplify and agree. Instead, force yourself to be completely devoid of any expressions or reply. Once you have that down, deciding the best way to reply to things that press you buttons will be easy.
TWO, Getting rid of those things that are under the carpet:
I am talking about the things you worry about... I am talking about those things that you know you should do or shouldn't do, but you're justifying and doing or not doing anyway. When I was a kid, I wish my parents told me the most important thing I now know. That is, happiness stems from doing what you say you're going to. In other words, if I say I don't want to drink alcohol anymore, but I go out and binge drink the next day... I am going to be unhappy. It may not have a big affect on your today, this one instance, but happiness is the sum of this idea. Over time, and as long as you're not expecting too much of yourself, if the summation is positive, you are going to be happy.
Do you have debt up to your eyeballs? Do you have a bad habit that 'isn't really a big deal'? These things have to go. This is the foundation for your existence. If you want to try to cut the line and push forward without fixing these things, just remember they will bite you in the ass 4 times harder later.ears.
I had outstanding debt that I was worrying about all of the time. Once I cleared that away, I felt a weight lifting off my shoulders. I learned to never allow this to happen again because of how much pain it caused me paying off for two years. Everyday I told myself how much it sucked to have that debt and how much money I was missing out on because I wasn't investing it. I didn't know how much this slavery was negatively affecting me until I got to freedom.
I had a ton of other bad habits also. I used to bite my nails. I quit. I used to overeat. I used to drink coffee. I used to have a fucked up sleep schedule. I used to watch porn. I used to swear. I used to go out and drink, and drink too much. I used to do a shit ton of things I didn't really want to, but that I always justified as 'not that big of a deal'. It wasn't until I took the time to tackle them, that I came to realize how much better my life was without them.
How can you practice?
This will bring me to number 3 a little, mindfulness and meditation. However, you can start today by getting an excel spreadsheet, and writing down everything you hate about yourself. No matter how small or trivial. Next, I would read Charles Duhigg 's book on habits. I would read that book, and take one habit at a time. Set a schedule spread out over a year or two, and quit each of them on the date you set. Space them out by a month or two. Realize that you should not tackle every single bad habit today. Rather, pick one. Pick one easy one to start. That one for me was quitting gum chewing. I chewed a shit ton of gum. Not a big deal, right? Good, it'll be easy to quit then. Once you quit, you will prove two things to yourself; it really isn't that hard, and how little you will miss it once you quit. Then, get moving down the list and watch how easily it all compounds.
THREE, Mindfulness:
Without this, number one and two are difficult. Additionally, there are a ton of things that are going on in your mind that you should know about. Mindfulness helps this process.
The biggest thing you need to remember is that you are not your thoughts. The thoughts are a product of the mind, but not you as a person. You practice mindfulness by watching or observing your thoughts, and being non-judgemental and accepting of your thoughts. This does not mean you do not take action. Rather, it means you do not have emotional reactions to your thoughts.
A thought of dread comes into your mind, such as, "I am a loser because of X." You notice this thought or feeling, and do not feed it. You repeat to yourself, "I am thinking I am a loser because of X, and it is okay that I am thinking that". It is important to not feed these thoughts. You feed these thoughts by hiding from them or rejecting them. For example, the man who says, "Do not look down," when you're very high up. Of course preventing yourself from accepting the fact that you are high up is what has the biggest effect on you, not the fact that you are high up. If you accept that you are high up and afraid as a result, the fear itself will dissipate.
How can you practice?
You should practice mindfulness meditation daily. Even if it is only for 5 minutes. The point of mindfulness meditation is to train your mind to practice mindfulness at all other times of the day. The ultimate purpose of meditation is to transfer the practice to your everyday waking mind.

FOUR, Your diet and physical fitness:
There are about 500 reasons why this is important. Not to mention, it is the basis of attraction. If you're not doing this, you're in big trouble for the future also. Your health depends on it. If you keep fucking up, repeat after me, get help from a pro. Don't waste too much time, quit while you aren't too far behind, and get help from a pro. Learn the basics, and then expand on this knowledge. Paying a pro can cost you anywhere from $100 to $1,000. But, it is well worth the money with what you will gain. If the guy isn't more jacked then you, then go to someone who is.
How can you practice?
Read a little, then apply it. Repeat. Instead of Googling your diet or workout plan, I would find a serious pro and tell him your weaknesses, then have them make a diet and lift plan for you.
However, you can take some things from book in the meantime. Some of the books you can read are:
Starting Strength by Mark Ripptoe (this is a book about form and the basics)
New Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding by Arnold (this is a book that covers basics and then expands on them)
The Obesity Code By Dr. Jason Fung (this is a book mainly about insulin and cortisol, don't take the diet information too literal, but pay attention to the teachings on insulin)
Man 2.0 Engineering the Alpha (I would exclusively pay attention to what they teach about hormones, but would not listen to their advice when it comes to the nutrition plan or workout plan)
FIVE, Your social life:
If you are doing everything you should be, you will become more happy. The other big component of happiness is being devoid of loneliness. You need a social circle, it will make you feel good.
How can you practice?
Find some friends that do active things, that do not drink or do drugs, and start a weekly get together. I have several friends I meet to rock climb once a week. A different group of friends I meet to do MAA with, and another group of friends I meet to play poker with. Not a single one of these events costs too much money, and no toxic activity occurs at any of them.

Lessons Learned
These are five things anyone here that wants to move towards the top 10%/1% should be doing and working on. Without a good foundation for your own life, you will find it hard to branch out and make other great things happen.
